Mr. and Mrs. John Stanley New man returned home Sunday eve ning from Enterprise where the Wyckoff behind the plate, for Nyssa. The local boys won over John Day by a 4-3 final score in a contest held Sunday. John Moore was on the mound for Nyssa with Wvcoff behind the plate A contest scheduled for last evening with Vale was cancelled due to lights on the field being out of order. Final game of the season is scheduled at 1 p.m. Sunday at Burns. Lutheran Churches Slate Softball Game Sunday in Caldwell A softball game between the teams of Nyssa Faith Lutheran church and Faith Lutheran in Caldwell is planned for 5:30 Sun day evening in the Idaho city. A potluck picnic dinner for players and their families will be served following the game. The local team opened its sum mer softball season last Sunday by defeating the squad from St. Paul's church in Ontario by a 20-10 score at Nyssa south park. 114 Bower Avenue Harry Y. Nakashima. Jr. (Skip) was recently promoted to the rank of corporal while attending annual field training sessions of the Second Tank company, U S. Marine Corps Reserve unit at Boise. During the first week the men participate in field maneuvers, firing exercises, classroom work and weapons firing. They also had special training in nuclear, biological and chemical warfare. Big game hunters are advised that copies of the 1965 big game regulations are now available at license agencies. Regulations in booklet form were received by the commission from the printers last week and mailed to agencies as rapidly as possible. Shipments were being made by county in alphabetical order. As a result, hunters in counties such as Baker or Clatsop will be able to obtain copies a few days earlier than those in Wash ington or Yamhill. The booklet is similar to those published in previous years. All seasons pertaining to each species are completely boxed in for ease in locating specific hunts. Hunt ers are urged to check carefully the various definitions and gen- eral regulations. Also included are unlawful hunting methods and procedures, arms and ammu nition, tagging regulations, ref uges open to hunting and areas closed to hunting. The booklet also contains ap plication deadlines and drawing dates for hunters interested in unit permits and controlled tags which are issued on a drawing basis. Contests Scheduled For Babe Ruth Team A baseball game between the local Babe Ruth team and a group of businessmen calling themselves the "old fogies" will be played at 8 o'clock this evening on the high school diamond Frank Preheim, Babe Ruth coach, has announced that the game will be under the lights.
