Mackey ADRIAN — Mrs. Belle Mackey and Craig. Mrs. Ben Mominee and Corina of Yernngton. Nev., and Sam Mackey of Reno spent the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Mackey. A near tragedy was averted Friday evening when Craig fell into an irrigation ditch at a ce ment drop. Gene Mackey at tempted to rescue him but when he could not, he went for help. G. E. and Larry Mackey were nearby in a field and both assist ed in Craig’s rescue. He was al most exhausted from fighting the whirlpool at the bottom of the drop. Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Mackey and grandson. Brent Lovitt. were Sunday dinner guests of his par ents. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Mackey. They also visited their sister-in- lam, Mrs. Belle Mackey and Craig: his niece. Mrs. Ben Mominee and Corina; and his uncle, Sam Mac- key. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Sessions and Brad were July 4 dinner guests of her brother. Mr. and Mrs. James Webster and Danny. In the evening they all attended the hot rod races in Meridian. Return From Madras Visit Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hamilton and daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ham ilton of Boise returned Monday evening from Madras where they visited their daughter and sister. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Richard and family. They also fished at Round Butte dam near Madras. W. W. Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Stam and family. Mr. and Mrs. Luit Stam spent the weekend fishing at Wallowa lake. They were joined there by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Webb and daughter of Hepp ner. Charles Walker went to Albany, Ore., recently to get his father. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Walker, who had been visiting there. The Walkers have purchased the Bill Looney property east of Adrian. Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Martin were Sunday evening dinner guests of his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Forie Martin. Enroute home they visited Mrs. Cart- w’right’s mother, Mrs. Alma Hib bard at Notus. She was recently released from the hospital. Weekend at Seattle Mr. and Mrs. Max Linville and family and his mother, Mrs. Don Linville, spent the weekend visit ing his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Pat Linville at Seattle. Mrs. Don Linville remained for a longer visit at the home of her son, Pat. Mr. and Mrs. Wally Steiner and family visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Steiner and family and Mrs. Janet Harden at Emmett. Del Clements of Port land was a June 30 guest in the Steiner home. PIERCE HANEY . . , Married in Tennessee ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ Haney Family Annual Reunion Fetes Couple on 60th Wedding Anniversary Tuesday. June 29 1965, marked the 60th wedding anniversary of Pierce and Lucy Haney. On Sat urday, June 26, the occasion was celebrated as members of their family gathered for their 12th an nual reunion. The gathering has been held each year on the weekend nearest their wedding anniversary, since the death of a son, Edgbert in 1953. Attending the event were 101 relatives who w’ere served dinner in the Nyssa school cafetorium Chairman for this year’s event was Robert Haney of Nyssa. He was assisted by his brothers, Ro ger of Boise, Alan and Gene of Caldwell. Payette Rites Held For Nolon L. Wilson, Heart Attack Victim • Pierce Melvin Haney and Lucy C. Payne were married June 29, 1905, near Gainaboro, Tenn. They moved to Utah around 1915 and came to Oregon in 1939. They be came parents of 16 children, nine of whom are still living. Among those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Haney, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Haney and Wayne of Pendleton; the Donald Haney family of Rathdrum. Idaho; Mrs Carmen Haney, Mr and Mrs. Fred (Joan) Saunders and Clyde. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell (Jean) William- son, Mr. and Mrs. Pierce Haney. Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Byron Ander- son, the Brent. Ivern and Bill Haney families, all of Ogden, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Roger Haney of Boise; Mr. and Mrs Hal (Gail) Craner and children of Paul. Ida ho; Mr. and Mrs. Clairon Haney and children of Gardena. Funeral services for Nolon Les ter (Dick) Wilson were conducted Saturday morning, July 3. 1965, at Shaffer Memory chapel in Payette. Officiating was the Rev. Howard Larsen of Ontario Chris tian church. Mr. Wilson succumbed Tuesday evening, June 29, at Forest Grove, following a sudden heart attack He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. George M. Wilson of Nyssa and was born June 16. 1913, at Fruit-1 land.
