Clifford la-Roy Smith, Jr., and family of Rupert, Duane Smith und two daughters of Ciarkaton, Wash , arid his mother- in-law, Mrs. Sybil Cleverly of Salt Lake City. While here, they also attended funeral services for the men's grandfather. Smith FFA award; Victor Haburchak, chemistry award; SanDee Weeks, Tn Hi-Y scholarship and match ing scholarship from Kinman Business university. Linda Morrison and Mike Hirai were recipients of pins, medals and cash presented by Mrs, J. I Brady on behalf of the Malheur chapter of Daughters of the Am- crican Revolution. Rolf Lier, exchange student from Norway, presented the stu- dent body with ii flag of his coun- try. This was accepted by Roy Gibson, student body president. Library. Theapian Presentations Mrs. Hurriet Brumbach gave out library uwurds to Neil Bohan non, Mike Hirai, Ixiuise Freitag, Sue Holmes, Bud Lawrence, Anita Niccum, Arlcen Okano, Bobby Oknno and Bonnie Sager. Thes pian certificate awards were pre sented by Don Bates to Greg Sumner. Robert Corfield, Nadine Spitze, Karel Obenchain and Joan Marcum. Tupelo awards went to Editor Margery Morton, Business Man ager Connie Irby; Karen Smith, Sharon Cottrell and Ellen Saito, staff members. These were pre sented by Miss Margery Nihart who also gave typing awards to 19 students including Miss Susan Schenk with 70 words per minute. Mrs. Virginia Steffens. FHA ad viser. presented certificates of achievement to Cindy Bratton, Janice Richards, Ellen Saito, Peg gy Seuell and Nadine Spitze. Miss Sharon Cottrell was recipient of the FHA Crisco award. Football, Baseball Awards Twenty - six football awards were presented by Jack Bowen and 14 baseball lettermen also received awards from Coach Bowen. Quill and Scroll awards were presented to 14 journalism stu dents by Dale Wilkins, instructor Wrestling awards were present ed by Mel Calhoun, with numer ous students receiving chorus, band and dance band awards pre sented by Frank Turner and Gary Clawson The music directors also gave recognition to Carol Pond, drum majorette; Mary Danford. Karen Main, Christine Burning ham and Stephanie Wilson, twirl- crs. Science and 27 track awards were presented by Douglas Wil kerson and Kinsey Keveren and included a top chemistry award to Victor Haburchak. Coach Ralph Aldrich presented basketball awards to 12 lettermen und Manager Robert Corfield. Miss Joleen Reece presented 37 GAA awards to girls earning their letters this school year, Fifteen students received tennis awards from Jack Bowen in the absence of Charles Quinowski, tennis coach. Honor student awards were pre sented by Principal Gene Chester to Owen Berrett, Katherine Far mer, Carol Haney, Glenda Hoff man. Judith Laurance, William Lawrence, Nancy Lytle, Linda Morrison. Goldie Roper, Otis Bullard and George Moeller were appointed as mem bers of the nominating committee to select new officers. The club will meet June 11 at the home of Mrs. Amy Stradley.
