NYSSA HIGH SCHOOL CALENDAR OF EVENTS Tigers. Grizzlies Capture Honors In SRV Track Meet Held at Ontario Payette suffered its first SRV- A league baseball defeat Friday afternoon when the Pirates fell 3-1 to the hosting Nyssa Bulldogs. John Moore limited the Idaho lads to three hits as he led Nyssa to victory over the league-leading Pirates. The Bulldogs got all the runs they needed in the first inning when they scored three hits off pitcher Joe Grief. Payette came back for its only run in the fourth stanza when Grief and Warren Meador hit back-to-back doubles. The lo?al team scored its three runs on a pair of singles, a double and a walk. Gerald Wyckoff ad vanced to first base on a single. Myron McCrady walked and Dick Meisinger hit a double, scor ing Wyckoff. Gary Mason’s single advanced McCrady and Meisinger across home plate. Batteries for the Bulldogs were Moore and Sid Lancaster. The defeat was Payette's first after six straight wins. Nyssa’s record now stands 4-3 in SRV-A league play. May 7. 4 p.m.—Baseball at Vale. Otis Smith, on a federal charge of violation of interstate transportation of a sto len auto, according to FBI agent F. Davis. They were arrested by Oregon State Police near Nyssa or April 25 and following an accident were charged with larceny of an auto. Both men were remanded to the custody of the Malheur coun ty sheriff at Vale in lieu of bond by Commissioner Smith and arc awaiting removal to Portland by the U. S. marshal. The Sarazins report the flash started two fires on the dwelling but Mrs. Sarazin was home and able to extinguish the flames be fore any great damage was done, although some siding was scorch- I ed. The lightning bolt resulted in damage to the family’s pump, hot water heater, washer-dryer, tele vision. radio and telephone. Fuse boxes were blown apart and cir cuit breakers damaged.
