Taro Yoshihara, Connie Shimo- jima and Donald Woods attended a recent Cancer society meeting and luncheon. These women and Mmes. Keith Gressley, Clifford Harris, Lloyd Lane and John Fournier are soliciting in this area. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Gressley and family spent a recent Friday evening with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Goodell and family at Middleton. Mr. and Mrs. Pete Bicart and family of Madras spent a recent weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. H. Findley. Family Gathers After Rites Members of the Hawkins family gathered March 24 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Trenkel after the Archie Hawkins funeral that day. Among those present were the Rev. and Mrs. Fred Hawkins, Marilyn and Nancy, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hawkins, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Wolf and family and Mrs. Alta Hawkins, all of Portland; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Haw kins and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rees and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Hawkins and Evan, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Trenkel and family, all of Ontario; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Holbrook and family of Bountiful, Utah. The Rev. Fred Hawkins offi ciated at his father’s service. He recently completed schooling in Portland and was appointed to his first church. The family moved last week to Dallas, Ore., where he is pastor at Faith Baptist church. Attend Youth Rally Young people of the Conser vative Baptist church held a March 26 rally at Union. The Rev. R. A. Hadeen of Malheur Butte church attended, took his daughter, Emily; Marty Jane Say ers and Janine Meyer. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Carlstrom and family entertained with a recent oyster fry. Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Brannon of Fruitland fur nished the fresh oysters from the coast. Also present were Fred Bell, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Saito and family. Dessert of ice cream and cake was served to honor Mark Saito on his first birthday anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Gressley and family went to Boise March 28 to visit Dick Wells in the Vet erans’ hospital. Mmes. Bruce Hunt, R. A. Ha deen, Paul Halverson, Miss La- ray Walz of Ontario; Mmes. Arlo Robbins and Jeanie Donahou of Vale attended a recent spring rally of Treasure Valley Women’s Missionary Fellowship groups at ' the First Conservative Baptist church in Boise. Goodells Have New Daughter Mrs. Ethel Goodell received a recent phone call from her son, Raymond of Kennewick, Wash., telling of the arrival of a daugh ter born March 29. The Goodells have three other children. Mrs. Llewellyn Robbins and children of Baker recently spent several days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Robbins. Robbins stayed in Ontario with his agriculture students and at tended the FFA convention. Mrs. Robbins, her mother, Ree Ella and Denzil attended some sessions of the meeting. Meda and Steve Sneddon of Beaverton visited recently with cousins, the Brock Robbins fam ily. They also visited their grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. D. Dear born in Ontario. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Sneddon, join ed them for Saturday evening dinner at the Robbins home. On March 28 the families were din ner guests of the Dearborns. Visit in California Mr. and Mrs. Jack Nelson and family spent spring vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Mil ton Nelson at Chino, Calif. Jack’s brother, Paul and family of Riv erside also visited in the parental home. The I. H. and Grover Findleys returned recently from a three- week trip to Colorado, Oklahoma and Missouri. They returned home via Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Harris and family entertained March 28 for a number of boys in the neighborhood. Activities included a baseball game and wiener roast. Orin Dale of Midvale visited recently in the home of his sister, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pettet. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Flinders and sons returned home recently after spending a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Grow at Ogden, Utah.
