A program on India, its prob lems and changes was presented by Phyllis Roff of Vale and Helen Gonyer of Nyssa. Miss Roff presented a film strip entitled “India Democracy in Asia” and told of current affairs and the struggle to obtain democ racy under leadership of the late Nehru. Mrs. Gonyer, who had heard a lecture given by Nehru’s younger sister, Mme. Krishma Hulheesing of Bombay, told of his early fam ily life and education. The event was sponsored by members of the Farmerette club and was attended by numerous friends of the couple. Following games, the Shaws opened their many lovely gifts and refreshments of cake and punch were served at the close of the evening. Members of the shower com mittee were Mmes.
