Return From Elk Hunting Mr. and Mrs. Don Fox returned home Sunday evening from a two-week elk hunting trip in the Long Creek area. Meeting with the Fox couple were Mr. and Mrs. Doc Douglas of Culver and other friends. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Wor den were also with the same hunting party. Clarence Castle of Stanton, Calif., was a Monday dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Viers. Castle has been here for the past two weeks doing some work on his place near the Snake river. Castle left Tuesday for his home. The Rev. and Mrs. Elmer Ros enkilde and Mrs. Jim Lane of Adrian were last Thursday even ing callers at the Virgil Viers home. Mrs. Virgil Viers called Friday on Mrs. Ida Hodge at Blakely nursing home in Caldwell. The group voted to send a check in substantial amount to Veterans’ hospitals in Portland and Roseburg. The funds will be used for Christmas cheer and by patients desiring to purchase items in the gift shops. Auxiliary ladies will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, to pack 2000 cookies and Christmas mes sages to be sent to hospitalized veterans in Boise. The group has asked the Journal to announce that both assistance in packing and cookies are needed for this project and they will welcome either or both. The work will be done in the community hall located at Third street and Ehrgood avenue. Donations may be taken to the community hall at the above-des ignated time or given to any member of the auxiliary. Among members of the committee are Mmes.
