By Mrs. Wilson Witt NEWELL HEIGHTS — The 5-H Horse club members will stage their annual rodeo at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, July 28. at the Irvin Top liff farm. Kids from 6 to 14 years of age will be entered. Events will include steeple chasing, rag tag, champion horse contest and clown act. King and queen of the rodeo will be select ed and crowned. Refreshments will be available and there will be a cake drawing. Residents of Newell Heights and surrounding areas are invited. According to a Navy news re lease, Marine Lance Corporal Er nest Rodriguez, son of Mr. and Mis. E. Rodriguez of route 2, Nyssa, recently reported to the Naval Base, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, a key Navy facility in the Caribbean. He has been assigned to Marine barracks as a member of a guard company whose principal duty is base defense. VISIT ENROUTE TO BOISE Mr. and Mrs. Dick Jamison of Portland visited last Thursday af ternoon with Mr. and Mrs. Chet Sage and the Willis Bertrams. They were enroute to Boise to attend the centennial square dance festival. Their two chil dren stayed with an aunt in John Day. Jamison is a nephew of Mrs. Sage and a cousin of Mrs. Ber tram. VISIT PARENTS IN NYSSA Mr. and Mrs. Carl Tyler and Dawn of Wenatchee, Wash., arriv ed Saturday evening to spend a week with their parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Tyler, Mr. and Mrs. Don Moss and family. They were accompanied to Nyssa by Shan Moss who had spent the past month with her elder sister and family in Wenatchee.
