The raise came rather rapidly and started with increase in the price of world sugar the latter part of May. The Nyssa high school band has been invited to participate in the 75th Annual Tournament of Roses Parade on New Year’s Day, 1964, according to a recent letter received by Bob Q. Smith, former band director. This is quite an honor to the school, Director Smith and the entire community as the Nyssa school will be represent ing the states of the northwest* and will be one of only 21 bands selected throughout the United States.
