ONE TELEPHONE CALL... "The Future and Your Family” is the theme for the 16th annual Homemakers Festival to be held April 25 at the Harper high school auditorium, Mrs. Dwight Mason, county advisory committee chair man announced this week. This theme was suggested by Mrs. Edna Kendall of Ontario, secretary of the committee, and is in keeping with the Home Eco nomics Extension program of the past year. Purpose of the festival is to en able extension unit members to share with all Treasure Val ley homemakers the information gained through their participation in the extension program. Eleven Home Economics Exten sion units from Jordan Valley to Oregon Slope will have displays on understanding teenagers, de veloping responsibility in chil dren, more costumes for less mo ney, buffet meals, low - calorie meals, stretching the food dollar, plus ideas called “eye - openers” and Christmas decorations. Seven other units will assist with such hostessing duties as registration, name tags, program covers, etc. The Tri-Valley Ex tension unit is making the exten sion unit emblem with the pur pose of explaining the purpose and origin of the Home Econo mics Extension groups. Mrs. Mason extends an invita tion to all Treasure Valley home makers to set aside April 25 to help them celebrate their 16th year.
