The new honored queen receiv ed a gavel from her parents and the honored queen’s pin from Kathleen McPartland. Laura Pen rod presented her a gift on behalf of the Star chapter and the De- Molay chapter gave her a corsage. A past associate guardian's pin was presented to Clyde Swisher. The program following the in stallation ceremony consisted of a solo by Judy Wilson, accom panied by Mary Lou Lancaster, and a piano solo by Lynda Cun- dall. Refreshments of cake, punch and coffee were served. 15 at the hall. Initiation services will be held for Phyllis Young. An outer guard will be appointed by the president to fill the present vacancy. Librarian’s report was entitled ■When Things Go Wrong.” Mrs. Thiel Presents Students in Recital Awards Presented To Piano Students At Recent Recital Mrs. Jim Thiel presented her piano students in recital, “Christ mas Memories,” on Dec. 27 at Faith Lutheran church. Guest organist was Mrs. John Milbrath. Among students participating in the program of all Christmas se lections were Christine Burning ham, Bonnie Sager, David Dan- ford, Debra Fangen, Leah Henig son, Kent Boydell, Mary Danford, Nadine Spitze, Stuart Henigson, Lorraine Wilson, Jenean Schoen, Nancy Boydell, Patty Urry and Marcia Wyckoff. Christine Burningfiam was named most advanced student, while Leah Henigson was given honors as most promising begin ner and they were presented with awards. Piano students of Mrs. Dorothea Lewis presented their annual win ter recital Sunday, Dec. 23, in the Nyssa LDS stake house. Awards were presented to Jeff Stephen, Susan and Linda Clapp and Bobbie Smith for outstanding work and progress. Others participating included LaRae Mitchell, Alan Cleaver, Merilee Wilson, David Wilson, Christine Call, Dee Farr, Linda Williams, Julie Jensen, Carla Jensen, Mary McCoy. Shelley Schulthies, Douglas Garner, Rickie Smith, Kathy Nel son, Jean Munn, Christy Nelson, Brenda Draper, Robert Ure, Con nie Mitchell, Dawn Drown and Alice Wilson. Prize Winners Reported For Oregon Trail Party Oregon Trail card party was held Saturday evening in the Grange hall with eight tables in play. High score winners were Mrs. W. C. Brown and Dave Beers. Traveling awards went to Mrs. Gladys Bingaman and Her- man Towne, while low scores were won by Mrs. Dave Beers and Loyd Adams. Next party will be at 8:30 p i.m. Jan. 19.
