While there they also visited her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Foster, and his brother, the Victor Viers family. On Wednesday after Christmas the Viers left for Coos Bay and went down the coast to Los An geles where they visited Miss Ethel Viers in a hospital. At Pasadena they visited Viers’ mo ther, Mrs. Della Viers, and bro ther, Frank. Going to Whittier, they visited two sisters, Edna Kennicott and Mr. and Mrs. Clar ence Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Brandt visit ed New Year’s day at the Mc Bride home near Greenleaf. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Glenn of Othello, Wash., recently spent several days at the Red Kreager home and also visited other rela tives. Paula Mefford, daughter of the Glenn Meffords, was a Friday overnight visitor at the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tracy Mefford. A birthday dinner was served Sunday at the Leo Salter home in honor of his anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Thomp son were guests for New Year’s dinner at the Sid Kelly home in Nyssa. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Kriegh and family and Ronnie Mitchell were guests at Sunday dinner in the Oscar Schafer home. Leaves for Georgia Base Tony Martinez left Jan. 3 for Fort Benning, Ga., where he will take paratrooper training. He just completed basic training at Ft. Ord, Calif., and was made acting corporal before coming home for the holidays. Isaac Martinez attended a New Year’s eve party at the Nishihari home at Ridgeview. Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Thomp son returned home Saturday after spending Friday night with the Ron Thompson family in Boise. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Rex Walters, stopping at Caldwell to call on Mr. and Mrs. Herb Andrews and family. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Keck and family and a friend of Bates, Ore., spent New Year’s day with the A. H. Keck’s. On Jan. 2 Mr. Keck’s nephew, Lynn Whittem of Woodland, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Joe Whittem and Mr. and Mrs. Henderson of Nampa were guests in the Keck home.
