Adding single runs in the third and fourth, Vale ran the score to 8-0. In the third Scott tripled to right center and romped home on Johnson’s sacrifice fly. Smith led off with a single in the fourth. Advancing to second on Bill Ret tig’s walk, he scored on Ceniga’s single. Bulldog« Score in Fifth Breaking the scoring ice in the fifth, the visiting squad pushed across two tallies when Don Arai singled and Terry Thompson was issued a walk. Both advanced on j a wild pitch and scored when John Beck reached first on John- ! son’s infield error. The Bulldogs grabbed a 7-6 lead j in the sixth stanza. Pinch hitter Myron McGrady, pitcher Jim Ko dama, Butch Bingman and Sid Lancaster walked, Arai smacked a sacrifice fly to left, Thompson singled, Mayden walked and Beck ’ hit a sacrifice fly. The deciding contest was played on Vale’s ground May 4. The Vikings rocked Jim Koda ma, the Bulldogs’ starting pitcher, for four runs in the first inning.
