Leaders receiving gold pins for 10 years of leadership were Mrs. Lois Hoffman of Cairo, Mrs. Stanley Hill of Adrian and Mrs. Orville Hickman of Ore gon Trail. Two plaques were awarded to 4 - H clubs for outstanding ach ievement during the past year. The plaque for clubs under 12 members went to Oregon Trail Clothing club led by Mrs. Orville Hickman. Hyline Livestock club received the plaque for clubs with over 12 members. of the marketing program for 4-H and FFA livestock. Guest speaker was Turner Bond of the Malheur extension service who talked on the ‘‘Practical Use of 4-H Training.” Idaho Power company, through its representative, Lewis Bean, sponsored a dessert luncheon for the leaders. Last week, poor Chub and his missus were entertaining a distant cousin from Center City who just wouldn’t call it a night. The later it got, the more he talked, and the more un happy Chub got. But Chub finally found a way to shut him up. Just as his cousin started another long tale with, “And that reminds me of the time . . . Chub jumped right up and said, “Gosh, you’re right! It is getting late!” From where I sit people who have respect and consideration for other folks’ feelings never outstay their welcome. One of my neighbors, for example, prefers other beverages to beer, yet when he drops over he never objects if I have a glass of beer while he enjoys his cof fee.
