John Briehl, pastor of Faith Lutheran church, was guest of honor Sunday at a potlucg dinner at Nyssa south park. Con gregation members from Grace Lutheran church in Vale and the local church joined to honor him on his 10th anniversary in this community. A specially decorated cake with miniature church on top, made by Mrs. James Nichols and Mrs. Bob Fangen, was served. The Rev. Briehl, who was in stalled as pastor of the Nyssa church on July 1, 1951, will be presented a gift from the two congregations. The Briehl family returned Saturday morning from a two- week trip to Wisconsin where they visited their parents. The Rev. Briehl conducted services in his home church, St. Peter Luth eran in Fennimore, and baptized an infant nephew. He also attended a national, meeting of the research and social action commission of The Ameri can Lutheran church at Wartburg Theological seminary in Dubuque, Iowa.
