Slrow Family Loses Belongings In House Blaze By Edna Mills OWYHEE—A fire in the Owy hee district Saturday afternoon completely destroyed a house be longing to Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kygar. The Kygars moved to Rome in November and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Strow were prepar ing to move into the house Sun day. Belongings they had al ready moved in were lost. Mr. Jones noticed the smoke at 1:25 p.m. and neighbors arrived within minutes. Attempts to save the house and its contents were futile. Smoke and fire in the interior prevented entrance. Neighbors did keep other buildings and machinery from igniting from flying sparks. Origin of the fire is as yet un known. Miss Patty Michaelson Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Michaelson of 218 North Sixth street, Nyssa, announce the engagement of their daughter, Patty, to Jim Thiel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Thiel of 2#06 West 11th St. road, Greeley, Colo. Miss Michaelson is a member of the 1961 senior class of Nyssa high school. Her fiance was grad uated from Ontario high school with the class of 1957 and is em ployed at Paul A. Roberts garage in Ontario. A summer wedding is being planned by the couple. +—+ Emblem Officials Visit Local Group Helen Davis, state Emblem president, and Margaret Gustiv- son, marshal, both of Seaside, ar rived Sunday evening to visit the local club. A luncheon was held Monday in their honor and later in the day the group toured the Amal gamated Sugar company plant at Nyssa. A no-host dinner was held Monday evening at the Palomino cafe preceding the business meet ing. Journal Classifieds Get Results! Mrs. Ervin Callaham has been taking care of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Earl Callaham, and her baby at the Carl Callaham home while Mrs. Carl Callaham has been in a Boise hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Buster Talbott and family were Saturday dinner guests at the Melvin Crocker home. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Perkins visited Sunday afternoon at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Fahr- enbruch in Adrian Heights. Mrs. Callaham Enters Hospital Mrs. Carl Callaham entered St. Luke’s hospital in Boise Thurs day for treatments. She was ex pected to return to her home Monday. Gordon Dobbin of Portland ar rived Thursday evening to spend the weekend at the Chester Mills home. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Kygar and Mrs. Florence Kygar were Saturday afternoon callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Mendazona. Mr. anil.
