Kersey As New Master By Farmerette« Club NU ACRES—Nu Acres Grange met Thursday night with several members and friends present., Election of officers was held with Calvin Kersey being chosen mas ter. The group was favored with a twirling baton act given by Debra Kersey, Barbara Carnefix and Anita Pritzl, and two accor dion solos presented by Gail Tal bot. Next grange meeting will feature an electrical safety pro gram. Convention, Pacific Exposition By Mrs. O. E. Mackey ADRIAN — Keith Langley and Gary Costley represented the Ad rian FFA chapter in the Oregon delegation to the national con vention in Kansas City, Mo. The two delegates left Oct. 10 and returned Sunday. Among events were the national public speaking contest, Firestone show, talent and stunt contests. Several guided tours were taken. Star farmer of America was named and American farmer degrees were awarded. for youngsters in Ronald’s Sun day school class of Conservative Baptist church. John Wolfkiel went hunting with a friend, Walter Davidson, over the weekend. They saw sev eral deer and an elk but did not succeed in getting any. Mr. and Mrs. William A. The Rev. and Mrs. Rex Linde- mood and family of Fruitland were dinner guests at the Merle Thomson home Friday evening prior to Gary’s return to Fort Dix, N.J. W. O. Unwin left early Sunday on a hunting trip to the Owyhee mountains with several friends. While he was gone, Gary Betts assisted Mrs. Unwin with the chores. Mrs. Leroy Howard, Robert, Barbara, David and Kent took a short vacation, leaving Thursday by train for Idaho Falls and Shel ley. The visited Mrs. Howard’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Speas at Shelley; a sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harold McCracken and a brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Speas at Idaho Falls. They returned Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Kurtz of Nyssa took Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Martin to Meridian Sunday to visit old neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Fisher, Miss Jean Fisher and Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Gass. Ronald Stohler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rinold Stohler, attended a wiener roast Thursday evening at the Lloyd Johnson home in New Vacation in Nebraska Plymouth.
