o o O o o TITUMBAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 1990 Auxiliary Members Elect New Officers, Make Bowling Plans Approximately 30 lady Eagles met Thursday evening at Eagles hall for the purpose of organizing a bowling league. Members in clude wives of Eagles and aux iliary members. Election of officers was held with Charlotte Allen being chosen president; Deana Kohl, vice presi dent; Claudine Garrison, secre tary; Elaine Olsen, treasurer; Bet ty Bowen, sergeant-at-arms; and Edna Mills, publicity chairman. Temporary team captains were named but each team will elect its own permanent captain and se lect a team name. Rules for the league were discussed and mem bers are asked to meet at Eagles hall at 8 p.m. Sept 29 to discuss plans before they go for their first game at 9 o’clock that eve ning to Bye Lanes in Ontario. Twenty-five members attended the event. Charter mem bers present were Alberta Bowen. Ruth Collins, Esther Reitenbaugh, Bertha Rudelick, Johnnie Rus- sell and Bertha Taylor, Past presidents attending were Bar- bara Jaques, Ione Storm, Ruth Collins, Mrs. Russell, Mrs. Tay- lor and Mary Lee Chadwick. Initiation was held and Bonita Meadows became a member of the auxiliary. Applications for I membership of Alta Stunz and Elizabeth Newman were read. Elizabeth Peutz was winner of the door prize and Edna Barclay’s name was called for the jackpot prize. Ione Storm and LaDonna Miller served refreshments of cof fee, sandwiches and birthday cake during the social hour held in the basement. Next regular business meeting will be held Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. An officers session at 7:30 p.m. will precede the meeting. Refresh ments will be served by Betty Talbot and Norma Asumendi. En tertainment is in charge of Ber nice Cleaver and Joanne Hol comb, and door prize will be fur nished by Evelyn Thompson. G. Holmes on their 55th wedding anniver sary. Mr. and Mrs. Holmes were mar ried Sept. 27, 1905. at Johnstown. Colo. They moved to Oregon and the Oregon Trail community in 1926. They have five sons, two daughters, 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One son. Glen of Westfir, Ore., and a daughter, Mrs A. M. Goodson of Parma, were unable to attend the anniversary dinner. Among those sharing the occa sion were Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Holmes. Dean and Jerry.
