The Rev. Earl L Hastings will officiate and special music will be under the direction of Mrs. Elvin Ballou. Mr. Strickland succumbed Tues-1 day evening, Sept. 6, 1960, at Malheur Memorial hospital fol lowing a lingering illness. He was born Dec. 28. 1885, at Cross Timbers, Mo., a son of John 1 D. and Charity McCubbin Strick- ( land He was married in 1911 to ' Oral Roschi at Neosho. Mo. They ‘ moved with their family to the j Sunset Valley community in 1935 from Joplin, Mo. Mrs. Strickland succumbed in 1954. Mr. Strickland was an elder in the Christian church of Nyssa and had been one of its most ardent workers. He owned his farm in Sunset Valley, was very fond of farming and enjoyed building up J the land and growing good crops. He is survived by four sons. John. Don, Ray and Glen, all of rural Nyssa; two sisters, Mar garet, Steele of Collinsville, Okla., and Ida Whetstone of Sanger, Calif. Also surviving are 10 grand children and two great - grand children.
