ACTIVITIES ELECTION OF OFFICERS HELD An organizational meeting of the Knitting club was held Feb. 16 at the home of Mrs. Alva Good- elL New officers elected were Lor raine Bishop, president; Evelyn Cleaver, vice president; De Ann Adams, secretary; Frances Clea ver, recreation chairman and Harriet Cleaver, reporter. Present were six members and four visitors. Different kinds of knitting needles and yarn were discussed. The next meeting will be Feb. 25 at the home of Nancy Goodell. If anyone would like to join this group, the number to call is FR 2-2898, within the next week. Harriet Cleaver, reporter. needle and thread club WORKS ON FAIR PROJECTS The Needle and Thread sewing club held their regular meeting Feb. 4 at the home of Mrs. Jim Savage, with ten members and one guest present. Members answered roll call by telling what project they plan to do next. The girls spent the afternoon sewing and working on their fair projects. Refreshments were served by the hostess. BARBARA BREWER HEADS OWYHEE LIVESTOCK CLUB 5, Mrs. Mary Brumbach and Ezra and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brumbach of Payette, attended a birthday dinner Sunday for Johnny Bish op, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bishop at Nampa. LeRoy Bishop started to work in a bank in Boise last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Varner Hopkins and Kenny entertained with a dinner Sunday for Messrs, and Mmes. Dick Reed and Laurynda of Nampa, Jim Hawley and By ran of Emmett, Larry Bauman of Nyssa, Boyce VanDeWater and Bill, Les Hill and family, Mrs. Leona Anderson and Mrs. Andy Michelson of Payette. Mrs. La Rayne Sorenson of Boise spent last weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chet Smith. Mr, and Mrs. Frank Carr of Boise visited Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Smith Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Herb Thomas entered Mal heur Memorial hospital Tuesday for surgery and last reports were that she was doing fine. Mrs. 'Emery Cameron and Mrs. Dyre Roberts attended the exten sion meeting in Ontario Tuesday. The subject was the care of fab ric. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Davis and Stevie and Mrs. James McGinnis left Thursday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Junior McGinnis and fam ily at Toppenish, Wash., return ing home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bill VanDeWater and Kent were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Fo glemon and family at Nampa. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Witt of Newell Heights and their cousin, Gary Foster of Phillipsburg, Kan., were Saturday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bill VanDeWater.
