LUDLOW ATTENDS ANNUAL CONVOCATION On Dec. 5, the Northwest Fur niture Travelers’ association pre sented the 1959 furniture “World Award of Merit” for the outstand ing retail buyer in the state of Oregon to William L. Peterson of Peterson Furniture at Ontario. The award was presentea at an evening dinner meeting in Port land, at which time two other re tailers were also honored, Frank Louthan of Louthan’s Furniture, Portland, and Neil Agan, Lyon’s Furniture of Eugene. Bert Hughes, manager of the Pacific Northwest Furniture Mart, presented the award to Peterson. The Rev. Paul Ludlow of the Methodist church attended the an nual convocation of the Oregon Council of Churches in Portland Dec. 1-3. Mr. Ludlow is a member of the state migrant committee which is one of the agencies of the council. The migrant ministry provides staff, religious, educational and health programs in seven of the state’s migrant areas: Central Oregon (Redmond), Klamath Ba sin, Malheur county, Polk county, Marion county, Milton-Freewater and Hillsboro. Mrs. Lester Cleaver, Frances, Carl and David visited Sunday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Elmer Scott in Payette. Elmer has been a pat.ent in Holy Rosary hospital for the past two weeks, following a heart attack. They also visited him there. Mmes. La Vern Cleaver, Lloyd Cleaver, Lester Cleaver, Delbert Cleaver, Eugene Cleaver and Magnus Ekanger spent Saturday in Boise. Mr and Mrs. Jess Asurnendi and family were Saturday eve ning dinner guests at the Buster Talbot home. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Culbert son were Sunday dinner guests at the Buster Talbot home. Sylvia Cleaver was a week end guest of Gail Flinders at Nyssa.
