It's Rodeo Time Again in Nyssa After skipping a year, Nyssa will pick up where it left off in 1955 with the 11th’ Nyssa Nite Rodeo on Fri day and Saturday nights. Although sponsored by the Owyhee Riding club with Lynn Snodgrass as the general manager ar.d “ the man with the push," the event can be called Nyssa’s because of the town-wide support extended from every quarter. Local business firms—40 of them to be exact—are show ing their appreciation to Mr. Snodgrass and the Riding club for the manner in w’hich this and previous shows were staged without asking for financial help. They have proved the show can be self-sustaining and because of that fact, these 40 business firms, through the Chamber of Commerce merchants committee, are helping publicize the event throughout the lower Snake river valley with thousands of circulars containing a wide variety of ads with Nyssa Nite Rodeo as the theme. Before anyone suggests that the advertising promo tion has a tinge of commercialism on the part of business firms, it must be remembered that a many-fold purpose is the objective, including: 1) Telling the entire area about the, rodeo, 2) Informing people of the same area about Nyssa, 3) Emphasizing the fact that so many bus iness firms can and do cooperate so whole-heartedly on a single cause, 4) Bringing attention to the fact that re tail firms have such a wide variety of merchandise at more than attractive prices. Of all forms of entertainment, rodeos probably head the list in all-out attendance records. People just natur ally like to see bucking horses, bull-dogging, riding club drills and all the other events that go with rodeos Those who are ‘‘lukewarm" about this popular form of enter tainment soon become enthusiastic because of the wide spread, popular appeal. If you want to see a friend or acquaintance from any part of the area, be in Nyssa Friday and Saturday and at the rodeo grounds both evenings.
