T hey did an unusually good job. If you did not hear this one, you will have an opportuni ty next m onth They plan to be guests of Mr Jones the 4th Mon day n ig h t of each month. These boys and girls do not plan to all appear on the program each m onth as they did this time, but I rotate to various com m unities in the county so th at the younger I d u b m em bers in their respective I com m unities will have an oppor tunity to participate. It will be thb responsibility of the junior leaders to plan the program . Those app earin g on the program last tim e w ere the officers who served last year, and the new of ficers for this year. We will have m ore inform a tion concerning this later. I.F.Y.E. We have had questions from time to tim e concerning the Inter- J national Farm Youth Exchange program, and we will attem pt to answ er some of them here. The I.F.Y.E. program is a pro ject for young people betw een 1 the ages of 20 and 30 from farm s in th e U nited S tates to live and work w ith farm fam ilies in other countries to come here and ob serve ru ra l life in America. The program helps to prom ote world peace by developing u n d er. | standing and appreciation of of problem s and by m aking | friends am ong people. W hile dele gates learn about agriculture and science in th eir host c o u n try ,' w hat th ey learn in this respect \ is im p o rtan t only as it helps them to understand the “way of life” of others. The I F.Y.E. program is financ ed by v o lu n tary contributions. The N ational 4-H Foundation helps pay the bills. T he Oregon B ankers association has for sev-1 eral years sponsored two Oregon I F. Y. E.’s. O ther organizations who help are 4-H and other e x tension groups, farm , fraternal, civic and church o rganizations,1 and individuals. If an y of you think you would be in terested in being an I.F.Y.E. but w ould like m ore inform ation please call the county extension office, or if any of you would be interested in having an I.F.Y.E. from some o ther country live in your home, please call the office or contact some of the persons in the com m unity who have been hosts to I.F.Y.E.’s for m ore infor- t m ation. I know th a t those of you who heard Tom Zinn, I.F.Y.E. from Iran talk last week, learned m uch from his observations.
