Members Busy Parents Night and With Fall Activities Reception Held Officers and members of the Golden Rule chapter No. 131, Eastern Star visited last Wednes day evening in Vale with mem bers of the Golden Chain chapter No. 103, OES and their guest, Louise Irving, grand worthy matron of Oregon. The occasion was the annual district meeting Nyssa chapter installed Edith Starry and courtesy candidate of Ontario Star chapter 69. • 5 *— Robert Morris and Friendship night was held at the Masonic hall Monday evening by OES chapter 131. Following a rseume of the life of Robert Morris by William Schireman, an adenda was given by the Star points in an impressive candlelight cere mony. Mrt B. Wil-on, pianist and Mrs Herb Fisher, violinist, play ed "Caprice” and "Fiddlin, The Fiddle". Mrs. Don Graham gave a reading, "The Origin of th? Apron”. Distinguished guests presented were Mrs. Peterson, past grand worthy matron of Oregon and Mrs. M. Davis, worthy matron of Golden Chain chapter 103, Vale. Other visitors were from Wale, Pendleton and Ontario. A friendship barrel was opened with gifts for all. Host and hostesses for the soc ial hour were Mr. and Mrs.'B. B Lienkaemper, Mrs. Edward Boy dell and Mrs. B Wilson. Parents night and a reception for fourth graders of the Junior department of the Methodist church was held Friday evening at Jhe church. Honor guests were pupils that have entered the Jun ior department this fall On the agenda for the evening were a program, a movie and a social hour. The children played games and the parents visited.
