Mrs Rowe and son have been here with her parent* for two week* Mr. and Mrs Roland Maw and Mrs. Orant Patterson went to Salt Lake City Wednesday for an M I. A. conference and returned home Sunday. Jimmy Ootten«ln of Eugene, who Is spending the summer here with his cousin, Bob Rice, and family, narrowly escaped serious Injury Wednesday about noon when he and Mr. Rice were returnllng home from Nyssa. The door of the truck In which they were rldln« flew open as they turned at the Werner Peuu place west of Owyhee Junction and the boy was thrown from the truck. Another truck close behind the Rice vehicle and making the same turn was stopped before hitting the boy or other truck. Mr Peutx and Mr Rice took Jimmy to the hospital where he stayed over night but was released after examination showed no serious Injury. Jimmy Is the grandson of Mrs. Esther Cottengln, who lived In Owyhee for several years. Mrs Lee Householder, Mrs. Vic Marshall, Mrs. Ouy Olenn and Ouy- anne and Diane a n d Joanne Bchwelxer visiting here from Wash ington. attended the Owyhee Riding club picnic In Idaho City Sunday Mr and Mss Bud Vanscoy and children of Payette and Mr and Mrs. Kenneth Ahrens and family A Nampa were dinner guests In the Oeorge Bchwelxer home Sunday. Books for the summer reading program sponsored by the P T A will be available at Skinner's grocery store at Owyhee Junction by the last of the week and may be checked out any time during store hours Bobby Skinner went to Ontario Monday afternoon to a swimming party and potluck dinner In the evening with a group o f young people from the Presbyterian church In Adrian. Mrs Martha Kllngback and Fred and Mrs Oeorge Oregg and Tommy went to Boise Tuesday to shop. A n nette and Janice Oregg spent the day with their aunt, Mrs. Kenneth McDonald Mr and Mrs. Darrell Williams were hosts at a Father's day dinner given In honor of T. H. Brewer. Ira Price was an over-night guest of Larry Culbertson Saturday, re turning to his home with him after the 4-H meeting. Mr. and Mrs Dick Brown and children went to Caldwell Sunday where they met relatives from Boise and Payette for a picnic in honor of a brother, Warren Brown and family, who are visiting from New York City Members of the Owyhee Com munity church decided Sunday morning to accept an invitation to attend Arcadia Sunday school Sun day, June 24. Sunday school will begin at 10 a. in. and last until 11:30. The Ambassador male quar tet will sing for the group until 12:30. A potluck lunch will then be served with drinks to be furnish ed by the hosts. Everyone is asked to take his lunch and table service. Rev Robert Krlner will hold reg ular services Sunday evening at the Owyhee Community church. Mrs. Martha Kllngback and Fred arrived Wednesday from Seattle for a two-weeks stay here. Mr and Mrs. Dick Brown and children, Mrs. Lynn Kygar and Maxine and Merle Kygar were in Boise Tuesday on business and vis ited In the Donald Pranklin home. Maxine stayed with her sister, Mr.;, Pranklin for a time. Ship Bull— Mr and Mr« Charley Or.der ship ped a registered Jersey bull to James Leary at Otis, Oregon Monday. Scandinavians To Meet— The Scandinavian Club of Eastern Oregon and Idaho will hold its an nual mid-summer festival in the Boise municipal park June 24 at 12 o’clock, noon. A May pole program of Scandinavian folk dances, games and sports have been arranged. Each family is to furnish its own food and table service. Coffee and ice cream will be furnished. Hollings worth of the Church of Christ left Wednesday on a trip to Ashland, Oregon, where they will visit his brother, W F Hollingsworth, and family Mrs John Shoenwald of Vale, daughter of W. F. After a .brief visit at Ashland, the three will then drive to Turner, Oregon, where they will be delegates to the state convention of Oregon Christian churches. Rev.
