JULY 20. 1950 Family Picnic Is Held At Owyhee OWYHEE, July 20—Mr. and Mrs. Byrd Walters were hosts at a fam ily picnic on their lawn Sunday. Quests were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Jones of Boise, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Walters of Nyssa. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Walters and Brenda of Boise and Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Walters. Mrs. Keith Tallman was surprised Tuesday evening on her birthday by Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Barker and Mr. and Mrs. Le Roy Seward of Ontario and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Williams and Mary Ellen. The guests furnished ice cream and cake, which were served during the even ing. Larry Culbertson entertained the members of the Sunset valley 4-H club at his home Saturday after noon. About 16 members attended. Mrs. Martha Kllngback and Fred and Mrs. Kenneth McDonald and children shopped in Payette Wed nesday and called In the Jay Qun- can home in the afternoon. Elwnor Walker, who has been visiting in the Duncan home for two weeks came home with Mrs. Kllngback and stayed until Saturday. Miss Walker, a niece of Mrs. Kllngback lives on the Oregon coast. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Tallman and family were business visitors in Qrandview, Idaho Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McDonald and children were guests in Home- dale in the Lester Parker home Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Grant Patterson made a trip to Idaho Falls over the week-end They went with Mr and Mrs. Vern Garner and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Maw Mrs. Lewis Skinner returned Wed nesday evening from Los Angeles, where she had visited her daughter, Betty White, for three weeks. Mr. and Mrs. George Gregg and daughters were Sunday dinner guests in the Martha Kllngback home. Mrs. Ralph Jones of Boise spent the week-end with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Byrd Walters. Fred Klingback took Mr. and Mrs. John Bumgarner to Boise Monday and Mr. Bumgarner remained at a hospital for treatment of back trouble. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Witt and son had dinner in Wilder Sunday In the James Witt home. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Love spent several days last week visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Green at Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Werner Peutz and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Morfitt attended the rodeo in Nampa Thursday night. Mrs. Jesse Ditty and Mrs. John Reeves shopped in Caldwell Saturday. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Schultz and their house- guests attended the rodeo in Nampa. V. P. Cutler of Long Beach, Cali fornia, visited for a week in the Adolph Schultz home. Mr. and Mrs. George Lindsey of Eugene were overnight guests, Sat urday night in the Clarence Fritts home. Mr. Lindsey is a neph»-:, of Jim Lane. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reed and Rob ert were in McCall for the week-end on a combination business and va- cation trip. Mrs. Ella Stephens visited her daughter, Mrs. Chris Melvedt of Boise while the Reed family were in McCall. Mrs. Steph ens, Mrs. Melvedt, and Halton Stephens of Portland, attended the community picnic in Apple valley Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Jemmett of Caldwell were dinner guests Mon day evening in the Waldo Smalley home, celebrating the birthday anni versary of Bob Smalley. SECOND SECTION j Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Bodmer and son. Bernard, of Natoma, Kansas left Tuesday morning after visiting at the R. M. Cochrun home. Mr. and Mrs Bodmer are former resi dents of Nyssa. KINGMAN KOLONY. July 20—The 4-H Saddle club have been practic ing and will ride in the rodeo Thurs day night. Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Fox Becomes Sick In Nebraska APPLE VALLEY, July 20—Severt Pox was called to Omaha last week because of the serious Illness of his father, Charles Fox of this com munity. Mr. Pox became ill while | on his way home and was taken to Omaha, where he underwent surg ery. Mr. Ellibee Is moving a load of Mr. Odl’s possessions this week to Baker, where Odle has purchased a ranch. Mr. Ellibee will take over the Odle place. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Caldwell were Sunday dinner guests in the Cedric Caldwell home in Parma. Mrs. Andrew Standal has been ill this week with a throat infection. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Coley of Nyssa visited Monday evening in the Oene Honey home. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Dick and girls arrived home Sunday evening from a two-weeks vacation spent in Canada. The W. S. C. S. met this week at the home of Arlene Dick. Frances Smalley was assistant hostess. Mr. and Mrs. Conley Wilson and boys visited over the week-end in the Kenneth Caldwell home in McCall.
