CANNERY STARTED HERE
Nyssa’s newest industrial plant is now in
actual operation, processing sweet corn from
approximately iooo acres of land.
Ihe operator, the Idaho Canning company,
will undoubtedly sustain a loss on its 1947
operations at Nyssa, but it is laying the founda
tion o f a successful and profitable business in
a community that has been proven as an out
standing agr.cultural area.
The processing of sweet corn will fit nicely
into the agricultural picture in this county. I ‘

The ensilage is fine for livestock, which, in
turn is desirable for fertilization of the land
