March 4, the Junior claae of the Adrian high Khool held a class meeting. The business of the meeting was to make lurther plans for the Junior prom that will be held April 18. The chairman of the table com m ittee, June Nielsen, reported that ma this year Instead of individual tables the committee has decided to have one large one. Betty Jean Toomb, the food chairman, read the proposed menu for the prom. The class also discussed whether to Join the sophomores and freshmen In giving a roller skating party for the seniors. The president, Donnie Hatch, appointed a committee to see about renting the Caldwell roll- Drain Ditch AND CANAL CLEANING Sewer and basement excavating. Also land leveling and ripping er skating rink. ADRIAN IN TOl'RNEY On Saturday. March 1 , a bus load of students was taken to North Powder to see Adrian play against allowa in the consolation game of the class B basketball tourna- liient. At 1:30 the bus left the high school with a load of 34 students and four parents. Acting as c h a p erones were Mr. and Mrs. Luit I f„tam’ Mrs Howard Hatch and Mrs. Charles Witty. The bus arr ived in Baker at 4:30. The basket- I ball team was staying at the Baker hitel, where the students met them. At 6:30 the students rode to North Powder, where the game was held. The bus arrived in Adrian at 5:30 Sunday morning. SPORTS REORGANIZED The re-organiaation of track and baseball for the boys was held during the sixth period Monday. Mr. Small will coach baseball and Mr. Huffman will coach track. A girls softball team was organ ized during sixth period Tuesday. The team will be playing other schools during the season. Mr. Reuter will act as coach. Tennis and volleyball teams have also been started. Mr. Bunch will coach the tennis team and will have charge of volleyball. The proposed baseball schedule as as follows: April 15, Vale at Adrian; April 18, Ontario at Ont ario; April 22, Nyssa at Adrian; April 25, Vale at Vale; April 29, Ontario at Adrian, and May 2, Nyssa at Nyssa. Larry Larsson is sick with the mumps and has been absent from school for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hayes of Ogden, Utah, and Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Bues of Roswell visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Larsson last week. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. de Boer of Ontario were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pratt of Newell Heights Sunday and also called on Mr. and Mrs. Dick Groot. C. M. Tensen brought his pack horses from Brogan Monday.
