The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. J. Gern- hardt. The couple were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Clifford C. Niel sen, brother and sister-in-law of the groom. The bride Is a daughter of Mr and Mrs. Tom Loe and Mr. Niel sen Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Nielsen. After a wedding trip to San Francisco they plan to make their home In Vale. Mr. Nielsen Is the Orange. The party will be held In the form of a supper, with games for entertainment December 27 Instead of on the regular meet ing date. After the business session Mrs. Whipple gave a talk on "Prayer Is Power." Mrs. Harold Robbins read a poem, "Her Day.” and Mrs. Elmer Hill, a poem, "These Things Are Free." Refreshments were served oy the hostess. M ARRIED IN M ISSISSIPPI Mrs. Mary W. Turner ol Jack- son, Mississippi, daughter of the late S. A. Wright of Inverness, Mississippi, and James E. Cald- vell of Foster General hospital ot Jackson, son of C. M. Caldwell of Nyssa, were married last month n Jackson. The double ring ceremony was olemnized in the chapel at Foster General hospital at 1 o'clock Thurs- lay afternoon, November 1, in the jresence of friends, hospital pat ents and a group ot Grey Ladies >t the American Red Cross. Chap lain (M aj.) C. O. White, officiated t the rites. Mrs. Caldwell has served as a 3rey Lady at the hospital, and t was in this role that she met her future husband, a patient there, 13 nonths ago. For her wedding, the bride wore a navy blue suit with black acces sories. Her corsage was pink car nations and tuberoses. Mrs. Gertrude Drummond, the ■jride’s only attendant, wore a light an suit with brown accessories and i corsage of yellow chrysanthe- nums. — The bridegroom was attended by Sgt. T. M. King of Port Smith, Ark., alto a patient of Foster Gen eral hospital, as best man. Mrs. Caldwell is a well-known musician, having taught music in the pubic schools for a number of years, and is known to thousands of servicemen throughout the Uni ted States, having been pianist for ihe City and Defense Recreation association at the city auditorium for the last five years. She has erved as music chairman of the American Legion auxiliary to Hen ry H. Graves post for five conse cutive years, and is active in a ■.umber of clubs and civic organi zations of Jackson. Mr. Caldwell spent two years in .he South Pacific with the 32nd division. While there he bedame .11, and was returned to the United States for hospitalization. Mr. Caldwell has been dismissed from the hospital, where he received treatment for a year. He is now employed in Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell are at home at 67 Bratton St., for the present time. CLUB NOM INATES Nomination of officers was held Tuesday night at a meeting of the Nyssa Business Women's club in the high school building. The of licers will be elected at a meeting to be held January 8. The topic of discussion will be the atomic bomb.
