Lord and Lady Halifax was impressed by th eir visit to Idaho and the residents of the kate were impressed by them. The distinguished vis itors’ “down to earth” attitude and graciousness and the ambassador's interest in agriculture we re particularly appealing to the residents of this agricultural section. The attitude of the ambassador, in which he recognizes the problems of the United States and Britain, augurs well for the post-war period, when a great deal of rehabilitation especially in Europe, will be necessary. Reports indicate that in the present war there is less bickering bet ween the allies over advantages and authority than there was in the last war. Perhaps, the pe ople of the allied nations are no more thought ful or magnanimous than before, but at least they are taking a more common-sense and real istic view of the cooperative war effort. Halifax seems to symbolize that cooperative attitude and is doing much to strengthen it th rough his contact with the common people of the northwest. The Greman press enumerated a few of the things Italy stands to lose when it is invaded by the Allies. One of the biggest omissions was th eir failure to note that Italy will very likely lose Mussolini. But then again, that wouid be a gain and not a loss.
