I. Boston Thursday after noon. Mrs. Rose of Tremonton, Utah, a guest of Mrs. B. T. Osborn, led the devotlonals. Following the report of the nominating committee officers for the following year were elected. Mrs. Severt Fox, president, Mrs. Waldo Smalley, secretary; and Mrs. Riley Sr , treasurer. On June 20th the Aid will sponsor a party on the lawn at the home of Mrs. Rollo Rucker. The party is being given by the losing side in the Aid contest which ran for several weeks earlier in the spring. The party will be a missionary party. It Is hoped Miss Cowen, well known here will be with us to tell of her work in the field of foreign missions. All women of the community are in vited. There will be a varied pro gram and refreshments will be served by the losers. A silver of fering for missions will be taken. Miss Jamieson of Boise has been visiting at the J. I. Boston home. Mrs. Leo Wood arrived home the past week from Alton, Mo., where she was called by the death of her mother. WADE P. T. A. CLOSE MEETINGS T IL FALL BIG BEND—A large number of members and several guests at tended the closing meeting of Wade P. T. A. held at the Haworth home Friday afternoon. A sunshine box for little Carmen Sillonis who Is a patient in St. Alphonsus hospital was planned and the program for next year was discussed. No more meetings will be held till Septem ber. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Welsh and daughter of Rexburg and and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Welsh and children of Idaho Falls during the past week. Mrs. R. L. Haworth and daugh ters and Mrs. M. E. Rogers of Par ma attended the wedding of a cou sin in Boise Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Jack Metcalf and daughters, Margaret and Barbara of Portland, arrived Friday for a visit with her sister, Mrs. R. L. Haworth, and other relatives. Iola Parker and Wilford Prosser left Sunday for Corvallis to attend summer school. Mrs. Rex Brumbach arid children of Pendleton arrived Sunday for a visit in the Brumbach home. Ruddock of Boise is visiting in the Weir and Pillsbury homes. CHILD’S ARM HURT IN WASHER JORDAN VALLEY — Chlrrll Lee Green caught her arm In a wash ing machine wringer and fractured it quite badly. Her mother. Mrs. Kenneth Green and Mrs. Marie Shuffle brought Chirril Lee in to town for medical treatment. Many of the present group of CCC boys will go home June 29th. Their six months period of enlist ment is over then. There will be a period when Company 3690 will be comprised of only about 50 men. A weiner roast and picnic was enjoyed by the young people of J. 1940. V. Saturday night. It was held out by that new bridge on the I. O. N. cut-off. Most of the young folks in town went out and had a good time. A1 Berro, Jordan Valley’s prize fighter, won his fight in Boise re cently. A1 took part in the fight as part of Boise's new athletic pro gram. He was featured in the semi-final bout. Al. Marguerite Ma- darteta, Tommy Zabala and Con- chita Arostqui were up from Boise Sunday. Isabel Mendieta. who has been going to school in Burns, is home from there for the summer. She will stay at the ranch. Harrison Davis was called to The Dalles last week because of the ill ness of his wife. Mrs. Ted Conners and family were down from De Lamar to visit at Parks last Thursday. Mrs. Gulelson is back in Jordan Valley once again. She has Just returned from a gem-hunting trip in Nevada. Mrs. Bessie Stults left for a few days in Bend with Mr. and Mrs. Fallon. Norman Nichols, Albert Acorta- gotia and Fred Schrien all left on Saturday to work in the hay fields. Karen Jefley visited at the Floyd Parks home last week. She returned home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Guy Wise and chil dren left Saturday for the State Grange convention at Salem. Dor- mand and Lormand will stay with their aunt at Ironside. Normand and Mildred will go on to Salem with their folks. Bill Leak and his wife were in town from Rockville Friday. Mrs. Jess Yturraspe and her son, Danny were guests at the Bessie Stults home Thursday afternoon. Lieut. Lars A. Ruud and his wife were Boise visitors Monday and Tuesday. County Judge Douglas and the county commissioners of Canyon County, Idaho, were here June 1st. They were looking over this end of the county. They were guests at a luncheon at Co. 3690 at which Dr. Jones was toastmaster.
