There will be a potluck supper before the meeting is opened for annual elec tion of officers, and all members are urged to attend. -HER FIFTH CHATTERBOX CLUB Chatterbox Club held its third an nual Valentine party at the O. E. Cheldelin home in Richland on Feb. 14 with sixteen members and one guest present. The afternoon was spent in playing games, followed by a Valentine gift exchange. The next meeting will be Feb. 28 with Mrs. Jess Ford, hostess. - -s- HOU8E GUE8T8 ENTERTAINED Complimenting their house guests, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Davis of Seattle, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Schireman entertained on Saturday evening at Chinese checkers and a midnight supper. On Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Louis P. Thomas entertained Mr. and Mrs. Schireman and their guests at dinner. - 5 - DANCING CLUB The dance given by the Nyssa Dancing Club at the Eagles hall on Friday evening was one of the most enjoyed of any held this season, al though the number attending was smaller than usual, due to the fol lowing day being Saturday. - Ma Irene Hollenberg To most people a birthday is an annual affair that occurs with in creasing monotony as the years in crease, but to Marzene Hollenberg, who will be twenty years old on next Thursday, a birthday anniversary is still a novelty, for next Thursday will be February 28th, the fifth one since Marzene was born. Marzene is the eldest daughter of School Superintendent Leo Hollen berg and Mrs. Hollenberg and was bom in Corvallis, Oregon in 1920. She attended the first grade of school at North Powder and the fol lowing year came with her parents to Nyssa where Mr. Hollenberg has been the leader in school work since. Marzene graduated from Nyssa High with the class of 1938 and the following year attended Eastern Oregon College at La Grande. This year she remained at home and is employed at the First National bank. May her birthday anniversaries be many and the years between happy ones. 8 OREGON TRAIL CARD PARTY On last Thursday evening at the Dale Garrison home in Oregon Trail the last of the series of card parties sponsored by the Oregon Trail Orange was held, with Mrs. Andrew Bocrsma, Mrs. William DeGrofft and Art Neeley as hostesses and host. Prizes for contract were won by Mrs. Keith Bailey and Grant Rinehart and at pinochle by John Lienhard and Mrs. Lloyd Adams. 8 WEDNESDAY EVENING BRIDGE Mrs. J. E. Bowen was hostess to the Wednesday evening bridge club and members were present to make the two tables in play. High score went to Mrs. Aden Wilson. 8 BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION On Monday last Mr. and Mrs. Russell Cornell and family. Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Jamieson and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Cor nell held a party at the parental R. Cornell home in the Richland dis trict in honor of Mr. Cornell's birth day anniversary. - 8UNDAY OUEST8 Sunday dinner and evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Louis P. MRS HOLLENBERG ENTERTAINS On Saturday evening Mrs. Leo Hollenberg entertained 24 teachers and the wives of the men teachers of the grade and high school facul ties at a whist party.
