Miss Kathleeen Clowers. daughter oi Mr and Mrs George Clowers of Valley View became the bride of Floyd Hirst at a quiet wed ding ceremony performed in Fruit- land. The marriage lines were read by a friend of the family. Justice of Peace Sargeant of that city and their only attendants were the brother of the bride Wiley Clowers and Mrs. Clowers of Nyssa. Mrs. Hirst's wedding gown was of pale blue crepe with white accessor ies and she carried a bouquet of gladiolas and sweet pease, picked from her mother's garden. Following the ceremony the brid al party enjoyed a dinner at On tario. While a comparative new comer coming with her parents from St John, K a s . in 1936 to Nyssa Mrs Hirst was well known being among the mo6t popular girls in this years graduating class at the Nyssa high school and has taken an active part in church and social activities since her arrival. The bridegroom is a native of Cheyenne, Wyo.. and has been em ployed with the Van Horn construc tion company here at Nyssa since 1936 The young couple will make their home in Nyssa. C IVIC CLUB The Civic club was entertained by Mrs. Andrew Boersma at her coun try home on Wedensday afternoon with a good crowd present. The business hour was taken up with Interested and lively discussion of work to be taken up for the coming year. But no definite action was taken upon any one problem. Following this the afternoon was given over to visiting with the tea service in charge of Mrs. C. C. Hunt with Mrs. Dick Tensen and Mrs Artie Robertson assisting.
