Our pond has fallen away a lit tle over a foot and at the past rate of falling there is enough water in it to last until the first of May. We invite the new land farmers to come and see our pond. We believe the farmers on the south slopes can have a pond too for Elza Nlccum is on the south slope and his slope is very sandy. He built a low dike across a sandy draw to get his ditch across. During the summer the upper bank of his dike washed out making a small pond and he never took time to fix it. There was no waste water ln this ditch for it was up next to the canal. When the water went off the water stood above the dike about 16 Inches deep and his sheep run to it for water for just a month before he had to water them from his cistern. Clarence Nlccum was the last man in Cow Hollow to combine wheat this year. He had the com bine In and cut his wheat crop for this year on Saturday after Thanks giving. The yield wasn’t too good but it will give him some feed for his chickens. Thanksgiving was certainly en joyed at the Doc Ragfington home. The evening before Johnnie took Doc’s truck and went over to Vale and Thursday morning he brought back two of Mrs. Rafington's broth ers and their families, Mort Wick- son and wife came up from town, Gilbert Anderson and Johnnie Hamilton was over so all told there were 20 at that Thanksgiving din ner. Doc Rafington has been very ill with a cold. He has been bedfast for three or four days and running a high temperature. Mrs. Rafington and Mrs. Cloninger who was nurs ing him very much feared it would run into pneumonia but Tuesday night his temperature had run down some and he appeared a little better. * George Gabriel is about to com plete his new house. Although it is a small house, building a house is quite a job when you do all the work yourself. Lieut Cloninger has struck fine Society *• water in his well at 300 feet. Art Eastman and family spent Thanksgiving at the home of her father and mother at Parkdale, Ore. Chuch Share’s grandmothe died last week. Thanksgiving day Dude Parker and his two older sons took Chuck to Jordan Valley to locate Chuck's brother to tell him of his grand mother's death. They had consider able difficulty ln locating him and didn't get home until after dark so they ate Thanksgiving dinner by lamp light at Dude Parker's home. Mrs. Heaton and family went to Emmett Thanksgiving and have returned as yet. Mr. Heaton has been working there for some tim • digging a well.
