Kurtz home Tuesday after noon Mr Kollen came to see about the clover dusting. BUI Blerman of Ontario, who Is doing quite a bit of the dusting here spent the rest of the week In Sun set Valley, returning Sunday eve ning to finish a few acres for Gheen and Kurtz. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Kurtz, Harold Dudley and Joyce, accompanied by Mrs Louis Pratt and baby, motored to Nampa on business Wednesday afternoon. While there they called on the Rev. and Mrs. Tetwiler. Choir practice was called Wed nesday evening at the Kurtz home for those who help with the singing each Sunday morning, but It was hoped anyone who liked would con sider themselves Invited. Eighteen were present. Mr and Mrs. Gene Pratt of Owy hee spent Tuesday evening at the Lou Pratt home. They are driving a new Chevrolet. Marlon Kurtz Is putting In an other 40 acres of clover. That will make an 80 with what he now has In. Louis Pratt is building a new granary. He recently bought enough lumber to make a granary and a barn which he will build later. Stanley Goulet has been very ill for the past week with tonsilitis. He Is gradually recovering. Mrs. Maurice Judd entertained Kingman Kolony Book club Sat urday afternoon. Overstreets. Mr Johnson seemed quite impressed with the crops of crested wheat. County Agent Larsen and a party of men from Corvallis were here during the week inspecting the fields of seed alfalfa for certifica tion. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hardman, parents of Mrs. Ross Healy return ed from Parkdale Friday, where Mr. Hardman went to spend the Fourth. ADRIAN Mr. and Mrs. Gerrit Munijeweriff and baby returned home Sunday evening from Walla Walla where they were visiting her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Newton. Mr. and Mrs. George Hall and family of Parma are visiting at the Howard Hatch home. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Marker and Mrs. Ellen Marker of Boise were Sunday guests at the Charles Mc Connell home. Holly Bros, have completed their soda fountain in the drug store. They are now open to the public evenings and Sundays. Duke Rohland spent Thursday evening at Horseshoe Bend. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mace and sons of Nyssa spent Saturday at the Everett Points home. Hubert Hagen left Saturday for Montana to work In the hay. Mrs. Charles Purdy, Chet Purdy and daughters spent Saturday vis iting Mrs. Reuben Basket. Miss Ellen McConnell, Howard Hatch and family attended the Snake River Stampede in Nampa last week. Mr. and Mrs. James McGinnis and children accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Alvon McGinnis of Newell Heights to Succor creek Sunday. Mrs Jarvis and Mildred of South Dakota are visiting their son and brother. The other by Hollys drug store. proved to be very spirited and gave him much difficulty Chuck ha- been watching the horse all spring and thinks he can handle the colt and quiet him down some. That is the kind of a horse trade we like to see. One that can be a mutual benelit to both parties and pos sibly make a fine horse out of what would otherwise be an outlaw Mort Wixon and Doc Rafington have both completed stacking their second cutting of hay. Neither of them have a hay edrrick. A man with a good hay crop and no hay derrick sure has his problems. Clarence Niccum is staking hay now with no derrick. We are all proud to have a good hay crop al though it is lots of work to stack it with no derrick. Many people are thinking ser iously now about their next winter’s stock water supply. Dale Linbaugh and Chet Sage have both started digging on their cisterns in their spare time. Jack Parker, who about a month ago started a small feeder route for the Co-operative creamery, says that they have kept increasing his route until now he has better than a 40 mile route, Jim Trummel expects to start work on building his new hay der rick within the next day or two. Mr. and Mrs. George Sebree have their Dodge in operation again, it has been out with a broken spring. The old Dodge is a 1917 model but run most like It did new OREGON TRAIL (Crowded out last week) Mrs Wm. DeGrofft and Mrs Wyatt Sml'h were hostesses Friday afternoon to the Adult Bible class June Birthday party at the De Grofft home. During the afternoon each guest embroidered and quilted a dainty holder. Aunt Mattie Thomason's was voted the best. The holders were divided between the guests of hon or. Mrs. Orln Choat and Mrs. Frank Byers. In a relay race Mrs. Choat's team won first prize. Visiting and refreshments brought a very enjoy able afternoon to a close. The Merry Matrons club met Wednesday afternoon June 29 at the home of Mrs. Virginia Rookstool with Mrs. Anna Whitman assisting. Roll call was answered by 11 mem bers and 4 guests. General sewing was done for the hostess. During the business meeting new officers for the next six months were elected as follows: President, Mrs. Agnes Knowles; vice president, Mrs. Gladys Davis, Secretary, Mrs. Elea nor Dietrich and Treasurer, Mrs. Bessie Ashley.
