NYSSA GATE CITY JOURNAL, THURS., OCTOBER 21, 1937 Ye Snooper’s Column Things About Nyssa's Shops On Saturday we didst hie us to the Sales Yard and there didst see much to cause us mirth. And did wonder why a handsome blonde man, who we didst recognize as our good friend that runs right well a large company’s affairs here in our Nyssa town, might be doing with a vibrator. That kind that sev eral years ago twas claimed was a sure panecea for all wrinkles and double chins et cetera that appear ed upon fate and fortyish ladies faces. For to us the skin upon his cheeks didst seem as smooth and fresh as a new blown rose. What with the week end deluge our thoughts didst turn to some thing in small and serviceable hats AUTO POINTERS for WINTER DRIVING Have Your Car thoroughly Greased. Try a tankful of Super-Shell Change Now to Winter Grade on. NORCOTT SERVICE Nyssa, Oregon and on Monday didst duck into Earnest WIson's bazaar to see what wares he might be offering in this line and there upon the table didst spy those diminutive beanies so popular with the college lassies. Cute tricks they are of velvet and felt, Jaunty and cut to fit any head. We would not have thee believe that because the Baldridge Imple ment doest call its self such a big name that it carries a stock limited to only this. For the the truth about it be far different. In that trading center they do carry all things to meet thy cookery and hardware needs and many more. Thou wilt have to see for thyself to know all. Now ye Snooper knows naught of beet trucks nor beet diggers nor eevn about beets. But we do know the over at the Rose Brothers in Parma one may get anything that one may need to help them in the harvest of this Oregon White Gold. With the long evening’s ahead one looks forward to getting in the much delayed reading and does cast disgusted looks upon that old fash ioned lamp which last winter did almost blind one with pale and mis directed beams. Bernard Frost at the Idaho Power and Electric did show us a new supply of A.E.S. lamps designed to shed light as she should be shed and we have resolv ed to own one, and that right soon. Are thy hands a chap with the nippy winds and the keeping of thy fires burning and the skin upon thy body itch as tho thou already hadst donned the red flannels. At the Nyssa Pharmacy they do carry a soap made specal Just for this and It do work well. Ask for a bar oi McCoys soap and after that there will be none other that will please thee. Many times ye Snoper has warned ye, as also have our neighbors Art Norcott who doest own that bright yellow services station at Second and Main as well as Jolly Bert Lienkamper and his crew across the street from Art’s, about the things that a sudden freeze will do to even the best of radiators. So if thou lack diligence and doest neglect to fill these babies with an anti freeze which they do sell and they do freeze tight upon thee some night when thou wilt be most needing thy motor vehicle blame us not. We have warned thee. And speaking of Old Man Winter and his habits cf sneeking in the night Tom Nordale is well supplied with all manner of stoves and at many prices so that there thou are sure to find one that will warm thy household through cut the winter Announcing . . .
