S. Sunday School and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Chadwick 8unday. M r and Mrs. Ed Leavitt and son Jimmy of Grand Coulee, Washing ton, were week end visitors o f his brother BUI Leavitt. Mrs. Dale Garrison and daughter Jo Anne visited at the Ed DuPre heme Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Williams re turned home from a business trip to Pendleton Saturday night. Mr. and Mrs. Ed DuPre and fam ily, Ray Steinhaus of Nyssa, Colleen and May Fenton of Ontario mot ored to Harper Sunday to visit Mr. and Mrs. Ed Casto and fam ily and to attend the Harper Townsend club picnic held on the Palmer lawn. Mr McGowan of Payette gave a very Interesting speech and the Shoepeg Wranglers furnished plenty of old time music. A bounteous basket dinner with lots of Ice cream was enjoyed by all. Mrs. F. W. Crump left Friday morning for her home In Phoenix, Arizona after visiting for the past few weeks with her mother Grand ma Leavitt and her brother .fill Leavitt. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Marshall of Nyssa visited Mrs. Marshall's broth er C. W .King and fam ily of Hig- gin, Texas, who has purchased the Steve Huenekus ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Fiank McCarty had a farewell party at their home Sun day afternoon for their nephew Ab- brose MoCarty who left Monday for his home in Hartwell Nebraska after visiting for the past few weeks with relatives here. Those present were the Harry McCarty family, Mr and Mrs. Emmett McCarty. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Miller and family and Mr. and Mrs. George McCarty. M and Mrs Char lie Leavitt of Vgle and Mr. and Mrs Elmer Leav itt of W h ile Settlement were visit ors at the Bill Leavitt home. Mrs. Maude Griggs visited her daughter Mrs. L. H. Fritz and fam ily Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Garrison and daughter Jo Anne spent the week end with M>’ and Mrs. Ivan Tiffan y in Garden Valley, Idaho. Mrs. Francis Hollingshead of Baker accompanied Miss Eleanor Leavitt home Thursday Miss Lea vitt plans to spend some time here recuperating from a eecent opera tion before continuing her nurses training in Baker. E. who spent a wonderful week end in the hills above Banks returned home Sunday evening. A partial outline of the schedule will show what a full and enjoyable as well as educational conference they had. Breakfast at 7, morning devotionals at 8, 9 to 11 study period; 11 to 12 swimmin; 12 dinner; 1 to 2 rest per iod; 2 to 4:30 hiking; 5 to 6 swim ming. 8 to 10 evening devotional and games around a camp fire. The eighteen young people present in cluded Lucille Thrasher, Marie Wallace, Margaret Winters, Rose McOinnis, EleancT Dutton , Glenn Osborne, Wade and Jim Nichols. Charles and Jewell Wilson, Bill. Bob and Harold Kurtz, Carice Case. Ed die Soomcn of Caldwell, a friend of Mr. R. G. Chandler, a house guest of Mrs. Ecklebarger from Arkansas. Mr. Chandler, M r and Mrs Eckle barger and Mrs M. L. Kurtz were In charge. 'Die Leach fam ily is moving back to Weiser this week and M r and Mrs. Chas. Harris and baby are moving back here. Mr. Harris will finish his basement house assisted by Mr. Leach who plans to stay and help with It. We welcome the Ha-ris back but regret to be Losing the Leaches. Ted Rodge-s left Monday night on a business trip to Pccatello. Budy Rodgers had his tonsils re moved last week. Messrs. Farnsworth and Peterson will thresh out more clover this week If the weather permits. A representative from the Souix City Seed company has been contracting fall seed for 31c recleaned. The 4-H club boys and girls are busy finishing up their work for the fair. Girls exhibits have to be in early. Books mast be in by the 31st. JAMIESON Ralph and Robert Pfeiier left on Friday for Oxnard, Oalifor., after spending ten days visiting with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pfeiier. Mr. and Mrs. C. H Bennett and son attended the farewell party Friday night given in honor of Mr. and Mrs Prank Ward. Clover seems to be the crop this year. Several ranchers are planting red clover to give it a good start this fall. Mr Rufus Cornell has in th irty-five acres. Albert Pfeiier Just completed twenty-five acres a"nd Carl Funk Is also panning on a few acres. M r and Mrs. Gus Maulhardt were week end visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pfeiier. They are tour ing through Washington, Oregon Idaho and Utah on business. They were through here two years ago and they say they have never seen such an improvement anywhere in such a short time. Mrs. Maulhar is a sister o f Mr. Pfeiier. RETU RN FROM T R IP M r and Mrs. C. Klinkenberg and Qilbert returned Friday from a weeks trip to the coast and Wash ington cities. They left here on a Thursday and drove to Portland. From there they went to Olympia. Wash . to visit with Mrs. Kinken- berg's parents. When they started home they came by way of Seattle where they shipped some honey to their son W. T Klinkenberg and family who live in Shignlg. Alaska Their next stop was at Kent, Washington, where they had dinner with the O Camp bell family, former Nyssa residents; and from there went to Auburn. Wash , to visit Mrs Klinkenberg's brother. J.
