A number of Bend people are at tending the graduating exercises in Nyssa this week. Mrs. Joe King and Miss Anna Henderson have issued invitations for a shower in honor of Miss Elsie Walters and Mr. Bob Welsh to be held at the King home Wednesday evening. The Jolly Janes will meet with Mrs. Harry Russell Thursda after noon. J. C. Watson of Parma was look ing after business interest in the Bend Tuesday. BIG BEN D N EW S Wade school closed a successful years work with a picnic In Caldwell Park last Friday which was attended and enjoyed by a number of parents as well as the pupils. The 4-H club winners who will at tend summer school at Corvallis this summer are Eleanor Haworth and John Timmerman. The alternates are Betty Jean Eachus and Clar ence Hight. Wade P. T. A. sponsored the club projects and raised the money to pay the expense of the trip. The H. E. C. met with Mrs. Wm. Stradley last Thursday afternoon and spent the time sewing. Xola Parker celebrated her 11th birthday last Wednesday by enter taining at a very pleasant birthday party. Thirty-five guests were pres ents from Bend, Roswell, Adrian and Kingman.
