Oordon, E. M. Fack- rell and Charles Thomas, from the drouth-stricken area o f Mountain View, Wyo., were In Owyhee Saturday looking over the hay situation. Mr. Oordon states that other W yo ming men are waiting their reports. They go to the Twin Falls country on their return. Mrs. Omer Hite Is seriously ill In the Ontario hospital of pneumonia with Dr. Sarazin attending. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bradley and daughter visited In Boise Sunday. Miss Bradley stayed for fortnight's visit with her sister Mrs. Ole Solomen. Mrs. Harry Beelar and daughter Car rie came from Pendleton Friday to spend the week with her mother, Mrs. Chas. Fisher. Andy Rust of Pendleton was a visit or here last week. He reports his broth er Oscar, also of Pendleton, recently sustained a fractured ankle. Elmer House returned from a trip to Seattle last week. He brought back a truck load of supplies for Jim Henly. Houston Dunaway has a crew of men concreting a lateral between his own and the adjoining ranch. Mrs. A. L. Garrit and son of Middle- ton were visitors at the T. M. Lowes Thursday. Matthews of Nampa, who took the baths at the Hot Springs for two months this summer, has returned for an Indefinite stay. Mrs. Sam Wright of Boise has re turned home after six weeks at the Springs. Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Cooper have returned to Caldwell after camping a month at the Springs. Gene Pratt brought 125 head of cows and calves from his ranch at Ironside for winter feeding. Louis Pratt is at Hereford this week. C. Smith, cattleman from Ironside is looking for pasture here. Mrs. Charles McConnell and her guests, Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Baird, of Depoe Bay and Clarence Meyers of Portland visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Rust. A deal was recently completed whereby Fred Klingback became the owner of the property between the Chas .Fisher ranch and the Owyhee Service station. Mr. Klingback is already clearing the land. Owyhee Community club was enter tained by Mrs. Otto Schwelzer and Mrs. Ellis Walters at the home of the for mer Thursday. Mrs. Relnke of Oregon Trail, Mrs. Clare J. Baker and Miss Crete Marie Foster were guests. Chas. Schwelzer went to Arock F ri day with a.load of coal for the teacher- age. He returned Monday. Mrs. Sch- weizer teaches at Arock. Mrs. Adaltne Bradley has returned from a months visit with her niece Mrs. Rhoda Obermeyer in Emmett. The budget board of Owyhee school met Saturday night. Rev. Moore gave an interesting talk to the school Friday on “ Frances W il lard.” He also spoke at Snively Camp. Mis. Aldrich, mother of Chas. Brad- lev. is seriously ill in Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey of Bizbee, Ariz., were visitors in the J. P. McGinnis ho:.ie last week. Mis. Harvey is a niece of M i. McGinnis, W arr„.i Fenn had the misfortune to lost four fine calves from black leg re cently while Ness Hatt lost six head of steers by bloat. Ray Smith became ill of typhoid fever contracted while at work with his father I. L. Smith, sub-contractor on lateral work at Mitchell Butte. He was taken to Parma Friday. Contractor Mr. Nugent is trucking hay from Nyssa for his teams. Vincente Mendiola viisted his ranch on the upper Owyhee this week and bought hay for his sheep in this com munity Laurence Carlisle and party, of Unity were pheasant hunting here Wednes day.
