School buildings have been washed, and books have been taken out of closets—for nine months of "reading, writing, and ‘rith- metlc.” But because of the “pinch of the times” some schools will remain closed. The Ladies Club met on the spacious lawn at the home of Mrs. Ernest Locey Wednesday, 17 members and 10 visitors were present. A Labor Day program was given by Mesdames Arthur Nichols and Myrtle Rose.. N all driving and horse shoe pitching provided much merriment and sub6tantlanl prizes were awarded the winners.
