Boden entertained last week with charming bridge luncheons on Thursday and Friday afternoons. Her rooms were decorated with several bouquets of brilliant zinnias. Each day guests were Invited to make up three tables. At one o’clock Mrs. Boden, as sisted by her daughter Dorothy, served a three course chicken luncheon, with cards following. Prize winners on Thursday were Mrs. Artie Robertson, Mrs. Ed. Wilson and Mrs. Ernest C. Wilson; on Friday, Mrs. Arthur H. Boy- dell, Mrs. Guy Bailey and Mrs Wesley J. Browne. Norcott gave a delightful dessert bridge Wednesday afternoon, in honor of Mrs. F. B. Schlapkohl, who is leaving for Ontario after two years resi dence here. Guests were members of the Monday bridge club and Mrs. A. H. Boydell. Mrs. Cook invited guests for two tables of bridge Friday night. Mrs. A PERMANENT WAVE Arthur Boydell won first prize for ladies while the men’s prize fell to Mr. Schire Only $ 2 . 9 5 man. Sunday night Mrs. Schireman gave a August 19-September 3 bridge dinner for twelve. ODD— BUT TRUE HUGH GLENN WEDS OWYHEE MATRON IN BAKER ON SUNDAY Owyhee—Mrs. Nova Baird of Owyhee community and Hugh Glenn of the Oregon Trail district were married in Baker Monday, August 15. Their friends chlvaried them at the Larson home Wednesday evening. A birthday supper at the Donald Mc Ginnis home was enjoyed by relatives Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bradley and Miss Alta took Miss Obermeyer to Emmett Sunday enjoying a visit with relatives while there. C. E. Burdick and daughter Francis of Wilder and Miss Verda Sleeper of Caldwell were week end guests of the Oscar Pinkston family near Mitchell Butte. Mrs. F. A. Ratcliff of Ontario is visit ing her daughter Mrs. John Hite. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Bosse of Walla Walla were guests of her sister Mrs. Fred Klingback Friday. They visited the Dam while here. Mrs. Wm. Peutz was hostess to the Owyhee Community club Thursday. The program which was given by Mes- dames Ellis Walters and John Hite was much enjoyed. Peggy Schweizer and Wilma Pullen gave a party for their friends Wednes day evening. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bradley, their daughter Alta and niece Wilda Ober meyer of Emmett and Mrs. A. C. Brad ley were overnight guests of the Geo. Smith family of Unity Thursday. Mrs. A. C. Bradley remained for a longer visit. Miss Florence DeEord of Payette was an overnight guest of her counsin Doris Klingback Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Norvall of Vale were dinner guests of the Chas. When .iliglitly thickened add trim cream and ford in the wh.pped cream. Add vanilla and pour into the refrigerator tray and freeze 3 to 4 hours. MRS. BAKER WILL TEACH AT AROCK Arock—School will start on Septem bers. Mrs. Clare Baker will teach again this coming year. The H. E. C. club ladies met at the home of Mrs. W. B. Packard August 18. The hostess served ice cream and cake to a large attendance. Everyone Is haying and harvesting grain. Good crops are reported every where. C. E. Lanning returned from outside points with a truck load of gasoline for his tractor. Mr. Lanning mowes his large acreage of alfalfa with a tractor. A. E. Robison is driving the mail stage again.
