A t the sam e tim e it w as announced th a t the office a t La G ande would be abolished, th e work bein g consolidated w ith th e c en tra l O regon h e a d q u a rte rs a t T he Dalles. This procedure lea se s only five land offices in th e s ta te of O regon, only fo u r o f w hich will be actively en g ag ed in th e u n se ttle d land business. These a re L akeview , Rwseburg, T he D alles and Vale. P o rtlan d w illh a v e the fifth office, th e location th e re being held epen to finish up the work o f th e field and special a g en ts.
