As Rainbow Worthy Advisor
An open installation ceremony
of the Nehalem Assembly No. 18
International Order of the Rain­
bow for Girls, was held Sunday
afternoon at the Masonic Tem­
ple Miss Evan Persvn was
seated as worthy advisor for the
spring term Acting as installing
officer was Miss Pattv Cone

Miss Cone was assisted by
Kathy Poetter as chaplain. Pat­
ricia Fisher as marshall. Gwen
Tomlin as recorder and Rhonda
Persyn as musician

Assembly and Mrs Alice Smith
gave her a tiara from the
Rainbow Board as a token „ of
their appreciation for her ser

Board
Miss Persyn and other line
officers introduced their parents
and families, as well as dis­
tinguished guests and visiting
assemblies Her motto for the
term is ' After the Rain the
Rainbow". Her flower is the
petunia, her colors are light
blue, lavender and white and her
song is Sunshine These were
used on the programs given each
person attending the installation
and in the decorations.
Dewey Conroy sang a selection
of songs and everyone enjoved
his fine performance
Ralph Sturdevant
believes
four girls from one fam ily to
become worthy advisor to be a
•first in the Nehalem Assembly
and asked Patricia. G w e n .
Rhonda and Evan to come
forward He was Rainbow Dad
for all four and congratulated
the girls on their work in
Rainbow
The installation
concluded
with the benediction by M r John
G. Crowston.
For the retiring march Dewey
sang Sunshine then the assembly
and all other visiting Rainbow
girls joined in at the a ltar to sing
"Let There Be Peace” .
Refreshments were served in
the downstairs dining room with
Mrs Chet Fisher. Mrs. Bob
Cone, Mrs. T F. Tomlin and
Mrs Norman Hamnett on the
serving committee and Mrs
Ralph Sturdevant and Mrs Dan
Koch as dining room committee
Miss Persyn announced her
projects for the term would be to
raise funds for the Vernonia
Ambulance Heart Machine, the
Oregon Heart Fund and the
American Cancer Society

Foshaug presiding. Commis­
sioners Mmkoff and Ahlborn,
and secretary Gloria Salvey
(deputy clerk) present.

onded the minutes of the meeting

the week of February 18-22

Statistics Administration
Local households in the survey
are among the 50,000 nationwide
that have been scientifically
selected to represent a cross
section of all households
