Forest Grove, under the direction of their dad advisor, Harold Johnson, were here to perform the crowning ceremony They presented Miss Persyn with a toy owl Miss Persyn presented Miss Cone with a gift from the Assembly and Mrs Alice Smith gave her a tiara from the Rainbow Board as a token „ of their appreciation for her ser vice during her term Ralph Sturdevant. Her flower is the petunia, her colors are light blue, lavender and white and her song is Sunshine These were used on the programs given each person attending the installation and in the decorations. Dewey Conroy sang a selection of songs and everyone enjoved his fine performance Ralph Sturdevant believes four girls from one fam ily to become worthy advisor to be a •first in the Nehalem Assembly and asked Patricia. G w e n . Rhonda and Evan to come forward He was Rainbow Dad for all four and congratulated the girls on their work in Rainbow The installation concluded with the benediction by M r John G. Crowston. For the retiring march Dewey sang Sunshine then the assembly and all other visiting Rainbow girls joined in at the a ltar to sing "Let There Be Peace” . Refreshments were served in the downstairs dining room with Mrs Chet Fisher. Mrs. Bob Cone, Mrs. T F. Tomlin and Mrs Norman Hamnett on the serving committee and Mrs Ralph Sturdevant and Mrs Dan Koch as dining room committee Miss Persyn announced her projects for the term would be to raise funds for the Vernonia Ambulance Heart Machine, the Oregon Heart Fund and the American Cancer Society T a k e W The Columbia County Board of Commissioners met in regular session with Chairman Fred Foshaug presiding.
