A good time of recreation, devotions and refreshments is promised all who attend. The Lord’s Day activities begin with a bang this week as Super intendent Paul Weidman will pre sent one of his famous chemistry object lessons during Sunday School, opening exercises begin ning at 9:45 a.m. Providing that the church building is still on its foundation after Paul’s experiment, the Morning Worship Hour will fol low at 11 a.m. The Evangelical Youth meeting at 6 p.m. and the Sunday class meeting at 7 round out the day’s activities. The Evangelical Women will meet next Wednesday at 12:30 noon for their April meeting. Plans for the upcoming Spring Retreat, news of missions, and a time of devotions are on the agenda for this month. Interested ladies in our community are invited to join in this activity. Midweek prayer and Bible study will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. We are studying the Book of Se cond Corinthians and finding it to present a real challenge to our lives. Choir practice follows the Bible study at 8. Etch of us has been created with a God-shaped void within our hearts that cries out to be filled. Jesus Christ can fill that void with in you if you will seek Him today. Chestphone $ PCC Auto Repair Is Family Affair Like father, like son., .like son . . .like son. Robert Seaman and three of his five sons are stu dents in Portland Community Col lege’s Auto Body Repair program. Seaman, a butcher for 15 years, decided to enter the auto repair program after he was laid-off last summer. He entered the program in September, son Rick, 21, be gan his first term in January, and Spring term, Ron, 18, and Bob, 16, registered for classes. All agree that their reason for entering the program was that they “like cars and working with their hands.” After the Seamans complete the three-term PCC program, they will serve an apprenticeship in dif ferent auto repair shops. Then they hope to start their own shop with Rick specializing in custom work .It will be strictly a family affair with Mrs .Seaman and a sister handling the stcretraial- bookkeeping duties Auto repair calsses are taught at PCCs C a s c a d e Transportation and Technology Center, 5131 N.E. Union, Portland. During the first term a student learns gas welding, paint preparation, and how to align fenders, hoods and grills, radiator shells, etc. In the second term he demonstrates metal finishing and shrinking of metals, use and ap plication of plastics, and estim at ing damage. During the third and final term, the student specializes in alignment of body, replacing turret tons and body panels, and is introduced to arc welding A two-year associate degree is being developed.
