pear and answer above-entitled
suit on or before 4 weeks from
date of first publication hereof.
Upon your failure so to do, plain­
tiff will take judgment against you
and each of you, as prayed for
in the complaint, to-wit:
1, A decree requiring defendants
to pay to the Clerk of this Court,
and within a tim e to be fixed by
the Court, for the withdrawal by
and use of plaintiff $980.00 with in­
terest at 6
percent per annum
from August 14, 1965, for $34.39
taxes with interest from Feb. 15,
1966 and for plaintiff’s costs and
disbursements herein incurred.
2, In default of making said pay­
ments, then after the lapse of time
fixed by the Court, plaintif have
a final decree cancelling and te r­
minating the agreement of July
14, 1965 and forever barring and
foreclosing all right, title and in­
terest which defendents or either
of them may have in Lots 3 and
4, Block 6, First Addition to Ri­
verview Lots now in City of Ver­
nonia, Columbia County Oregon,
and restoring said real property
to plaintiff, and
3, for such other and further
relief as to the Court may seem
just and proper.

the City of Vernonia at the City Hall
in Vernonia, Oregon, until 8:00 o’­
clock P.M., April 4, 1966, to furnish
and install one mobile unit, two-way
radio, with 110 watt output, bids to
be publicly opened and considered
at that time. Informality in bidding
is waived and right is reserved to
reject any or all bids. Complete spec­
ifications for the desired unit may
be obtained from the Recorder at
the City Hall, Vernonia, Oregon.

Tests Scheduled
The audiometrist from the state
departm ent of education is testing
students in the district 47J schools
today and tom morrow, March 31
and April 1. The hearing tests are
being given to pupils in the kinder­
garten, first, third, fifth and sev­
enth grades. Referrals from other
grades are also being checked.

and Linda of Corvallis spent F ri­
day night with her mother, Mrs.
Edna Johnson. They returned
home Saturday and she took Randy
Silbaugh to his home after he had
spent several days with his grand
mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Everett Beach of
Pittsburg visited Thursday eve­
ning with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd
Beach.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Larson and
the Herbert Rodgers family spent
last Monday evening at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Hebe Rodgers. It
was a joint gathering for the birth­
days of Donna Rodgers and Ethel
Larson
Mr. and Mrs. I^urence Johns­
ton took his mother, Mrs. Everett
Johnston to Seaside Sunday to her
daughter's home. She returned to
Eugene from there.

returned to college at OSU last
Thursday following spring vacation
and Lloyd Johnston and Marvin
Larson returned Sunday. Terry
Larson has enrolled for this term
at Lower Columbia College at Long­
view Jim Bellingham also return
ed to Ashland Sunday. His folks
flew him there. Mrs. Jerold Moran
(Cathy DuPuis) returned to Mon­
mouth. She will live at G rass Val­
ley. a little town near Monmouth,
and do her practice teaching.
Mr. and Mrs. G. P, Wanstrom
attended the Rainbow Girls recep­
tion in Vernonia Sunday at the
Masonic Temple. It honored Mari­
lyn Jones who is grand chaplain
of Oregon. Others who attended
were Mrs. E. T. Johnston. Mrs.

Columbia
County, Oregon, deems it advisable
to build a new Columbia County
Court House and has, on this date,
made and entered an order author­
izing the construction of said Court
House and, accordingly, the public
is hereby notified that a public hear­
ing will be held on the 25th day of
April, 1966 at 7:00 o’clock p.m. in
the Cafetorium of the St. Helens
Junior High School, St. Helens, Ore­
gon, for consideration and discussion
of matters pertaining to the construc­
tion of a new Columbia County Court
House in St. Helens, Columbia Coun­
ty, Oregon, the steps to be taken to
provide the funds necesssary for that
purpose and the proposed location
to said new Court House.
The site upon which it is proposed
to build the new courthouse is as
follows:
All of Lot 4, Lot 5, Lot 6, Lot 7,
Lot 8, Lot 9, Lot 10 and Lot 11
of Block 107, City of St. Helens,
Oregon, as per plat on file and
of record in the Clerk’s Office of
Columbia County, Oregon; also
all of Block 112, City of St. Hel­
ens, Columbia County, Oregon,
and all of Block 123, City of St.
Helens, Columbia County, Ore­
gon.
The approximate cost of the site
of the new courthouse is $190,000.00
and the approximate cost of the
proposed courthouse is $824,000.00.
The approximate date on which it
is proposed to commence construc­
tion is the 3rd day of April, 1967.
No tax levy is proposed or neces­
sary and no bond issue is proposed
or necessary for the construction of
a new County Courthouse, or the
acquisition of a site. The County of
Columbia has the funds necessary
for the acquisition of the site and
the construction of the new Court­
house in the Special Courthouse
Building Fund. The Special Court­
house Building Fund has a present
balance of $1,014,898.00.
The County Court of Columbia
County shall at its regular meeting
on Wednesday, June 8, 1966, enter
an Order and take whatever other
steps are necessary to secure and
commit the $1,014,898.00 in the Spec­
ial Courthouse Building Fund to the
construction of the new courthouse
and the acquisition of the aforesaid
site.
The public should take notice that
petitions authorized by Oregon Re­
vised Statutes Section 276.720 may
be submitted to the County Court
at the time and place of the public
hearing. The law does not provide
for the presentation of petitions set
forth in ORS 276.720 other than in
the manner and at the times set
forth in said ORS 276.720.
The present County Courthouse
will continue to function until the
new courthouse is built and occupied
and thereafter it will be utilized by
the County in such manner as will
be in the best interest of the citizens
of Columbia County.
This notice is given pursuant to,
and in conformance with, Oregon
Revised Statutes Sections 276.710 to
276.990.
