Skating Party
Set for Youth
A pre-rally ice skating party at
the Lloyd Center Ice Pavilion
will launch the Saturday night
Youth for Christ program. Begin
ning at 5:30, the young people can
get their skates and at 7:15 will
move over into the Benson high
school where the theme of the
rally is “A Look Into the Future."
Opening the rally will be the pre
miere showing of the full color
Moody film, “The Professor and
the Prophets,” space age uncan
nily revealed in scripture.
Dr. Charles F. McKoy, who at
the age of 70 resigned his pastor
ate in New York and left for In
dia, will speak. Dr. McKoy, now
83, has just returned from anoth
er term where he has ministered
in Japan, Hong Kong, Formosa,
India and Palestine, also in Soviet
Russia and Yugoslavia.
Witnesses to Cancel Local
Meetings for Convention
Robert E. Butler, Forest Grove,
presiding minister of Jehovah’s
Witnesses, announced that all
meetings normally scheduled at
the local Kingdom hall will be
cancelled this week end in favor
of the semiannual circuit assem
bly in Portland September 22-24.
Witnesses from Vernonia and
their friends will gather with ov
er 2000 others from the Tualatin
valley and Portland.
