9 Ladies Attend Birthday Party TIMBER — Miss Ruth Cupit accompanied Miss Gladys John son to Portland Saturday night where they attended a birthday party for Mr. Williams and his son-in-law, Phil Hickman at ths A. J. Williams home. There were 21 guests present. John and Veranna Hopkins of near Salem, spent th-? week end with the Glen Bond family. George Riggle received word Sunday morning of the death of his brother, William Riggle, who passed away at his home at Bux ton Saturday evening after a lingering illness. Mr. Riggle was 77 years old September 6. Mr. and Mrs. Zera Thompson spent the week end in Canby with Mrs. Thompson’s sister, Mrs. Daisy Buggins. Mrs. Laura Gilmore and her daughter-in-law, both of Port land were Sunday dinner guests ®1 Mr. and Mrs. Remus Branson Mr. and Mrs. William Johnson spent Saturday and Sunday in Vancouver, Washington with their daughter and son-in-law and fa mily, the Nick Furst-mburgs. Steve Bisanz was taken home from the Good ^Samaritan hos pital one day last week after a months stay due to pleural pneu monia. Thanksgiving Potluck Is Planned at Birkenfeld BIRKENFELD — There will be a Thanksgiving pot luck sup per Wednesday evening, Novem ber 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bir kenfeld gym. All the churches are participating and it is a com munity affair. They are featur ing chicken as the main dish. There will be a program and service following the supper. She is known to many here as she was recently supervisor of the Child for Christ crusade, a branch of the Union Gospel Mission in Portland.
