He plans to complete engineering details shortly so this work can also be started in the spring. The area to receive the brunt of this work will be Corey Hill, with some few exceptions else where in town. With all of this, the advance ment to be achieved will be well worth the trouble caused during the time of construction. Meddling with boxes of pa trons of Uncle Sam’s mail routes can be a serious matter if the person who is causing the trouble is caught. A case of this kind has been reported to the post office within recent days where rocxs have been thrown at the box and some of the contents have been taken out. Youngsters are thought to be responsible for using this parti cular box as a target for rock throwing and if this is the case, parents of the young people will no doubt be held responsible for the damage. The post office department doesn't like this sort of thing and has some definite rules regardin* depredation of boxes. Those caus ing the trouble will no doubt be identified and when they are, a post office inspector will take over on handling the offense. But from June through Sept -mber, we hear on every side the need for more water to irrigate our crops, to sprinkle our lawn or to run an industrial plant, observes County Extension Agent, Don Coin Wal- rod. This problem of enough water to meet our needs during the dry season promises to be come acute as our population in creases, our industries grow and farm demands become greater. A study of Oregon’s water prob lems has been underway since August 1953 by the State Water Resources committee that was es tablished by legislation that year. This committee has compiled data for use in planning ways to meet i these problems and will make recommendations to the forty- I eighth legislative assembly. The I report is now available.
