Arch Cape Party Draws Local Folk The social hall of the Evangeli- lal United Brethren church was th? scene of a delightful bridal shower last Friday evening hon oring Margie Roland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Georg' Roland, whose marriage to Clayton Aid- rich will take place at the church this Saturday evening. The thirty or more guests spent an enjoyable evening playing games after which the honor guest opened and displayed her many low>ly and useful gifts. Delicious refreshments were served by members of the Martha circle who acted as hostesses for the party. I ——— — —i. Auxiliary Plans Welfare Work The Past Presidents Parley of the American Legion Auxiliary held their ¿September meeting at the home of Mrs. Ed Crawford They cut out garments for a baby layetet. They also voted to raffle a doll at Christmas time, the proceeds to go for their hos pital and child welfare work. The October meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Henry Ade Sr. The doll has been purchased and tickets will be on sale soon. The nr'xt meeting will be held at the home of Mrs Paul Weid man at which time their pals will be disclosed and new names drawn. A number of Vernonia folks went to Arch Cape last Saturday to a party at the home of Mr and Mrs C. C Brown which celebrated the 74th birthday of Mr Brown, better known to his many friends here as “Lum ” Those from here who joined the neighbors in the Arch Cape area at the festivities were Mr and Mrs Emil Messing. Mr and Mrs Charles Justice. Mrs Ethel Hall and Tommy Hall There from Clatskanie were Mr and Mrs Otto Goertzen and Bill ar I Eva Jacobs and Mr. and Mi Tom Schoenheinz from Portlar.
